  • Kildonan Lodge Hotel Review score: 8.3

“Very comfortable and clean rooms. The communication for the check-in was great. We spent the weekend with my whole family and really enjoyed! I would definitely recommend this place”

  • “Location great, just out of the city centre, but on a tram route. The room was very good, the only slight inconvenience was that the bin in the bathroom made opening the door and getting out awkward. Full breakfast was excellent, and I appreciated being able to buy tea, coffee or hot chocolate and a bite to eat at the bar before going to bed. You had a book with local attractions, both within Edinburgh and in the general area, e.g. Dunfermeline, North Berwick, available, and this was useful as it gave me an idea of where to visit. Reception staff were also able to advise about public transport and walking routes to get to places. I chose to visit Dunfermeline Abbey and Palace, (Historic Scotland properties and free to enter), and only around 30 - 45 minutes away by train, with a half-hourly return service to Edinburgh. Great views from the Forth rail bridge.”
