The hotel was really pretty and we enjoyed the common areas! The attic room was a bit claustrophobic, but bed was super comfortable

Breakfast was crazy busy. All guests seemed to arrive at the same time to be fair. BUT this meant they were too busy to print me a VAT invoice upon checkout. I have messaged via booking.com, called and emailed but bern ignored. My accounts team are not happy so I have reduced my overall score.

Staff were fantastic. Everyone I interacted with were kind and helpful. Room was beatiful and very comfortable 'Wee dram' of whiskey was cute

The room was a bit run down, though still totally OK for a few nights' stay.

This is a small hotel that appears to have had better times. They were renovating while we were there so hopefully by the time you get there it would be nicer. However the staff was very friendly and graciously let us early into the room, and the location is conveniently accessible by both car and bus.

Only negatives would be no shower gel in bathroom (it's the little things) and the curtains which were held in by screws.

Very nice comfortable hotel within easy flat walking distance to the centre. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were extremely polite and attentive.

The mattress was a bit too weak, it sunk underneath me a fair bit.

The room was pretty clean and cosy. The breakfast was quite tasty. The location, while a ways out from Edinburgh, was next to a bus stop, so it was easy enough to get into town without having all the noise.

No hand rails on the steps from the parking area or main entrance. The bushes in the front garden need pruning and the plastic ones removed to enhance the property image

Size of bathroom. Bathroom door handle loose and I got stuck inside at one point. Noisy wardrobe that rattled and thumped when you walked across the floor. Tiny tv for such a big room. Can’t sit in any of the seats to watch it as too far away and the screen is tiny.

    Size of the room.

Some of the decor was very loud, carpets clashing with wallpaper etc. The air freshener was very strong. I didn't opt for the best room and so my room didn't look like that photos and was quite small

Comfy bed, car parking, some of the decor

New TV had been installed but aerial not connected - not significant.

Walked up to restaurant for a meal; 20 minutes no problem and helped digestion! Following day, it was a 15 minute walk to the University, so the Hotel is well-positioned for this. Room was being refurbished so not everything was finished but it was warm and a comfy bed plus a good shower, bottles of water and tea-making pieces. Breakfast was excellent!

Hardly anything - the water pressure was a bit low when we arrived!

The receptionist was helpful and accomadating even though we arrived an hour late due to road closures. The breakfast was huge and delicious real authentic Scots fare with perfect eggs, tattie scones, bacon, sausage, haggis, black pudding and all the trimmings! A great breakfast server too with a good sense of humour always a blessing first thing in the morning!
