The hotel was lovely. It's right in the centre of the old town, so perfect for saving on taxis! The bed was really comfortable and to say it is central, it was very peaceful, with no external noise. We found the owners to be very accommodating and able to help us order transport to the airport, and gave recommendations for restaurants. The outside area is very peaceful. They had some lounge music playing whilst we were by the pool, which was lovely and not intrusive. It's a very pretty area, in a courtyard, with lots of greenery, but the space is small. Myself and my husband used the pool on one of our days, but it isn't designed for more than two or three people to be out there sunbathing. There are tables and parasols too, if you prefer the shade. We had room only, so no breakfast was included. On our pool day, we had a couple of beers in the sun, and asked for chips, which were handmade for us. Proper deep fat fryer fat delicious chips! They were brill!

The shower wasn't great. It was either boiling hot or freezing cold, and we had to jiggle the thermostat for a few minutes before we got in. Shower pressure wasn't fabulous either, but it got us clean so it worked after a fashion! We had to ask for the room to be cleaned, as I don't think they do it every day, unless requested. Ran out of loo roll a couple of times and had to nip downstairs to ask for some.

Very welcoming from the moment we arrived which was very early off the overnight train. We were offered, completely unexpectedly, breakfast and early check in at no extra charge. A great start to our couple of days in Izmir. Breakfast daily was excellent with great variety and quality. Also very good coffee. Barish at reception always went above and beyond to assist with whatever we asked. He was always welcoming, friendly, professional and made time to answer our many questions and provide information. Thank you Barish for making our stay so easy and enjoyable. Tour information provided (at the tour desk) was very helpful and informative with no pressure to book. Close proximity (easy walking) to the railway station and bus station for transport back to Istanbul. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet with plenty of hot water. Walking distance to waterfront cafes, restaurants etc

On arrival, the Villa had a different name. We had to carry our suitcases up a very steep hill. We couldn’t find the villa as it wasn’t named. We had to knock on next door villas who said to try and see if we could get in. Which then led us to try and get in which luckily was our Villa. The Villa was a beautiful building and the bed was comfortable however one bed had ants therefore we had to avoid this bed. Some of the cupboards were dirty and we were given 4 toilet rolls to last the week however we didn’t mind buying more but for a larger group wouldn’t work. We just felt the Villa would have been very inaccessible if someone had an injury or a disability as even for two young fit adults it was a struggle getting up and down to the main road. It was also a struggle to get back if needing a taxi as we’d have to direct all taxi drivers due to the incorrect naming of the villa. We don’t like to complain however we feel if these issues aren’t addressed when booking such as the accessibility some families would be very upset. In addition the bath tap was hanging off therefore couldn’t be used and the pipes needed running for around an hour before any warm water came out they were extremely inconsistent and luckily my boyfriend could fix them as he had the knowledge on what to do however some people wouldn’t. We have a feeling we must have been the first people to stay here as some things weren’t finished such as the bath and the coating of a sawdust like dirt all around the villa. Overall the area is beautiful and we didn’t spend a lot of time in the villa so wasn’t a big problem for us.
