Walls were a little thin but just played some white noise at night which worked a treat.

Room was v comfortable, food was great (breakfast and Sunday roast), service was excellent.

Breakfast was lacking flavour and size - coffee was poor. Generally overpriced and underdelivered and then an expected tip on top of £20/head. Strange 'burnt' smell when ascending the stairs...?

Good location, comfortable lounge areas, the complimentary snack bar nice addition, friendly and helpful staff.

The only thing to be fair was the cupboard outside bedroom 14 . Was where they kept towels all day in out .Open door close the door mite need a solution . As not restful sorry mite help xx

Very friendly and welcoming. Extremely accommodating of us travelling with a toddler - the little teepee with toys and books in a room was a lovely touch. Very helpful by setting up a high chair in the lounge space for an early dinner for our toddler as the restaurant was busy with a wedding event.

Additional cost for parking was okay but we weren’t allowed to leave our car beyond midday after checkout. This meant we had to move it before shopping as we were leaving at 3.

Beautiful hotel with some lovely touches. Pantry a big hit. We also loved the dolls house containing the tea and coffee and the record player. Beds were very comfortable and everything was spotless. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant.

The team were all so lovely and our room (bootham suite) was beautiful! The whole weekend just felt cosy, looked after and the design is absolutely gorgeous

The bag collection service was fully booked in a not particularly busy period which I think was a great shame as it’s a big usp for the guest house and makes a lovely touch! I used it when I stayed at the Margate guest house and raved about this service a lot. There was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom from the drains, which wasn’t too much of a deal for us as we were only there for one night but had I been staying for a while I think I would have asked to move rooms

The interiors at the 2 guesthouse hotels I have stayed at are beautiful and always feel luxurious with a homey touch, the pantry is a really lovely touch too. The treatment i had in the spa was the best I have ever had and my mum said the same.. Staff are super friendly, attentive and accommodating. I actually left some jewellery in my robe pocket and didn’t realise it was missing until I had left the guesthouse. The staff were so helpful, contacted the external laundry team and managed to locate them for me which I am SO extremely grateful for!

You can hear a lot of what goes on outside of the room. Doors banging, chatter, etc. I understand it being a guest house the original features were kept and noise is a result of that. I am flagging just so other guests are aware beforehand.

Good location, great decoration and perks (pantry with snacks, coffee, etc). Staff was very good too.

Fantastic hotel located just a short walk from the centre. Decor is beautiful and a lovely atmosphere. Staff were brilliant and super friendly, they went out of their way to make sure we had a lovely stay. Breakfast was fantastic. Genuinely dog friendly - dogs allowed in lounge area for dinner.

Everything. It’s a super place to stay. Short walk 6/7 min from York centre. Lovely rooms with individual items eg record players, really nice food, well stocked pantry, pleasant staff, ….. so good

We didn’t use the car park as we thought it was a bit pricy so we found one on rent your drive for £25 cheaper for the 3 nights.

It would be difficult to say anything negative - the only small thing would be the cocktails at the bar. Very disappointing in terms of quality and considering the price. However, that is a minor point.

The room and overall hotel were excellent - really tasteful with attention to detail. I particularly loved the lighting in the bathroom, the bed and the pillows! The hotel itself felt warm and welcoming. The walk into the city was perfect too - not too far. We would definitely stay again.

The walls are pretty thin and due to being in the room nearest to the pantry you rely on other guests being respectful of their noise levels when getting their treats, slamming doors etc.

The location of the hotel was perfect for walking into the City centre for shopping, sightseeing and visiting the theatre. The surprise of the pantry was very well received by my 11 year old!
