Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBooking stated all taxes and charges paid, this is not the case as the hotel charges 5.20 euros a day per person for the Taxe De Sejour. I queried this but they blamed Booking.Com for not including this in the booking information. Either way it is an additional charge to be aware of. No tea and coffee in the room is a weak point for me but clearly this is a matter of personal choice. The hotel does provide free tea and coffee in the lounge , which was pleasant albeit that it sometimes felt slightly reluctant when the staff had to fill the small kettle on several occasions. The rooms are small but comfortable. The bathroom really needs updating with a slightly random shower pressure and temperature.
Breakfast was very good with a wide variety to choose from. Limited cooked options, which was not an issue due to other choices. Coffee and fresh orange juice was very appreciated. The location of the hotel worked well for our stay. Metro is close by and is served by line 4 which is direct from Gare Du Nord. Pleasant walk to the Louvre, Eiffel Tower and other tourist sites, with the option of using public transport. Restaurants and shopping close by. The area felt safe.

Belgium- there were hair and toilet paper inside the toilet when we arrived at the room. - there is only one plug next to the bed. so it's not possible to charge two phones or use two devices around the bed at the same time. the other plug is next to the door. - the walls are thin.
- the location of the hotel is great. there's a subway station and the bus stop near the hotel. - the staff are nice. - the rooms cannot be considered as big; but it's big enough if you won't spend the whole day in the room. - the bed is comfortable.

South AfricaMaybe a bit far, but the area and rooms are nice, and we made use of a day pass which worked very well!
Nice room size for Paris. Also nice restaurants and bars nearby. Close to a metro if you don’t want to walk far to some of the main attractions.

Location was really good. Restaurants and top quality coffee shops right nearby. Lovely safe area

United StatesThe first room I was in I requested to be switched from which, luckily was able to be accommodated. The second ( updated ) room was perfect for our stay. I wish they changed the bedding daily, or at least every other day. My pillowcases certainly were never changed and I wish they had been.

CanadaThere was no extra lock inside the room. You need to keep the do not disturb sign on the door to keep the cleaning staff from entering while you are still asleep. As female travelers we we shaken when we woke to someone entering our room. We shouted and ran to secure the door. I think we also frightened the cleaner as she took off fast!
We loved the location which was central to everything. The afternoon coffee was delicious and free. The room was clean and comfortable. The AC worked great! The staff were friendly.

South AfricaExcellent location with plenty of bus/metro stops in the vicinity to access public transport. We walked back to hotel between 12pm - 2am every night and it was completely safe. Rooms were so warm and comfortable and had a small balcony we were not expecting. Lovely cafes and bakeries in the neighborhood. Staff were really friendly even though we could not speak French.

United StatesRooms & Bathroom was very small, but that was to be expected in Paris. So, this met our expectations. Be sure to grab a map and ask for some help with setting your bearing before heading out on foot for the day.
Beds & pillows were really comfortable. Location is set between 2 metro station (3 lines). We found the green line 12 to be the best for us...took us direct to Montmarte and to Madeleine for an easy walk to Garnier OperaHouse. Staff was accommodating and friendly. House wine available in the lobby. 15minute walk to Cafe de Flore area or D'Ors (20min to Siene River and. beyond)

United StatesThe only downside of our stay was the inconsistent housekeeping. From our 1 week stay, I can say only 1 day, the day before we checked out, the room was actually cleaned. We even requested them to vacuum the room and when we returned it was not. Towels were changed some days, others they were not and unless we took out the trash, it was not removed, not even the bathroom trash. I wish the housekeeping had been better during our stay with the rooms actually cleaned every day. Making the bed alone is not housekeeping.
The reception staff was very friendly and the rooms were comfortable. The AC worked perfectly which was great during the Paris summer heat. The room was clean when we arrived and the bed was very comfortable. Very well located with metro, shops and restaurants nearby but still in a quiet street so no noise during the night.
