Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe lack of windows in some of the rooms can feel a little claustrophobic; but having stayed before I was expecting that.
Free Cheese and Wine for Guest during the evening was a lovely touch; a glass of fizz to celebrate my partners birthday and a choice of the available rooms. Nice personal touch.

FranceThe room was too noisy: the noise coming from the street, the noise coming from the AC, the noise coming from the corridor. It is quite difficult to have a good sleep. The room is very small I knew it when I booked it, but for a family room with 4 people it is quite difficult to move into the room.
The location is great. Next to the old street station. There are a lot see of good restaurants nearby and lots of options for breakfast.

United KingdomWhen we checked in we were early and told we could have a room without working air conditioning or wait 30 minutes. We decided to wait but the air conditioning in the room we were given was not working. The rooms are very small even for a couple so I would not recommend for anymore than 2 people in a room.
Brilliant location for what we needed and close to the restaurants and Banya No1 we had booked.

United KingdomLower ground floor rooms are quite noisy due to underground trains and the rooms are close to each other meaning you can hear quite a lot of noise. Our TV also didn’t work as it should, not too much of an issue, but something that would have been useful.
Great location, clean rooms, and friendly staff.

United Kingdomthe room we were given in the basement was just horrible. It was very noisy and could hear trains all day and night. The floor in the room had been cleaned. There was debris everywhere. Shower enclosure was tiny as a couple this was difficult to navigate. Not a single space to put a suitcase or clothes other than hooks on the wall .
Fantastic location and Reception area was lovely had a modern feel and 24 hour bar. I staff were friendly and told us, we could have a late check out for free , but later found out this wasn’t true.

United KingdomThe air-con was noisy and also not working properly although there was a sleek looking control panel. It gets too hot and I couldn't even turn it off. I was going to tell the front desk, but after returning from a small shopping, I noticed that it turned itself off (I couldn't turn it back on) and the room temperature came down to comfortable level. I was too tired to bother, so just went to sleep, so I cannot comment what reactions I would have got from the staff and what could have been done to the problem. Without the air-con issue, I would have given it 8 or 9.
The price and location. Old Street is not in the central London, but the hotel is VERY close to the station and you can get around London by Tube fairly easily. The room is compact to say the least without any windows, but I only needed it for sleeping over night, so no issue there. You can hear people speaking outside on the corridor, but luckily there weren't many on the day I stayed. The room was clean and facility is just what I needed (a shower, toilet, sink, wifi, tea/coffee making thingy). For the same kind of money, I stayed at another hotel near one of the terminal station with much bigger room and great breakfast, but it did not have a shower or loo. For a short stay, this one win hands down. There are a couple of supermarkets nearby which is also very convenient.

United KingdomDidnt like being in the basement as you could hear the trains, although it didnt disturb my sleep. Didnt like being ignored while trying to get my bag later in the day, first man said my colleague will deal with it no one else was there waited 5 minutes then someone else came dealt with another person who just come up to the counter, I went to the loo and my daughter stood there for a further 5 minutes finally they got my bag which was just at reception took two seconds why the first man couldnt have done that I dont know, he was just standing in reception the whole time waiting for someone.

Nice, trendy, clean, modern and comfortable accommodation. Kind and friendly hotel staff. Easy check in and out with luggage storage. Excellent location for eating tasty food and drinking nice cocktails. Trendy area with a huge variety of restaurants, bars and cafes to choose from. Very good transport links, and only 2 stops to Euston on the underground. Used the bus to get to Spitalfields. Only 6 stops. Fabulous hotel for either business or leisure.
