Great value and location though it does get noisy at night due to the central location near night clubs. We use ear plugs though so we slept great.

The food was amazing, sleeping in the open air (no problems with bugs), the view, all was amazing!

Extra thank you to Christian and Darwin for all your help. Our room was so spacious and clean with incredible views, we were given a free upgrade which we really appreciated ! The food in the restaurant was exemplary and the cocktails delicious!

Set on the shores of Lake Atitlan, Balam Ya offers a private dock area, free kayaks, and a complimentary light breakfast. Each villa has a balcony with views of the lake. The villa is located right on the lake with spectacular views! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The manager was available at any time. We hired a chef for one night who prepared us great food. I would go back in heartbeat.

Atitlan Villas feature rustic-style architecture, a swimming pool and hot tub overlooking the Atitlan lake. Built into the mountainside, it provides panoramic lake views. Mario and his staff were outstanding. They were attentive, caring and trust worthy. They made us feel as if we were guests in their private home. The secluded location and view of the lake/volcanos were spectacular and the large fluffy pool towels for cool evening dips into the jacuzzi were a bonus.

Panajachel has much to offer tourists. One can explore the town, head to Solola and check out the weekly Mercado, zipline, engage in water sports, or explore other towns around Lake Santiago Atitlan via boat. Food prices along the main street are relatively fair (~Q35 for a daily special) and the street vendors that come out at night definitely have better deals (typical Guatemalan food and fresh pupusas for ~Q5 and up, churrascos for Q20, etc.). There are a good deal of bars in the area as well.
