It’s paradise, not in a five star showy kind of way but in a wholesome, immersed in nature kind of way. I’ll miss the lovingly prepared breakfast overlooking the spectacular lake and mountain views and the luscious gardens set with a solar panel for the pool and veg garden for the organically homegrown food. The sweet staff make the place too. It’s off the beaten track in a non touristy part but that’s core to its charm.

Very friendly staff and I believe a family run business. Rooms were more then big enough and consistently had hot water. We were offered a room clean and additionally free access to kayaks. Basketball court was an added bonus and provided plenty to do when not exploring the town. Finally there is 2 very friendly dogs we liked. They do have there own area if you were afraid of them however.

The staff are wonderful and the atmosphere is very engaging and friendly. They are genuinely open and interested in you and ensuring you have a wonderful time. The casa itself is stunning. It has a wonderful understated elegance. It works really well as a guesthouse while still having the best elements of a hostel where you can meet travellers, have conversations and connect across varied cultures. The location is local.... you interact with locals who are relaxed, friendly and polite. Andres will explain how to have the best local experiences, including, the chicken bus, truck pick up and public la lancha experiences as well as authentic craft. The casa is very good value for money.

A beautiful garden that is the best at this camping. A walking distance from the village, but far away enough to have peace and quiet. There is a kitchen and a fridge if you plan to stay a while. Very pleasant, green surroundings.

The villa was in a quiet part of town that you needed to take a taxi to/from panajachel. The property had stunning views of the lake (2 min walking distance) and the surrounding volcanos. The pool was very clean and there was a large hot/heated pool. Many sitting areas around the property and all of the staff were super helpful/friendly. The room was clean (no AC but it gets cold at night so probably not necessary), and the water pressure was excellent. Each room has a balcony.

Here's one of my best hotels in life. Cuisine, drink, food, nature surrounding hotel, and hospitality - all excellent. Very easy to catch tuktuk on the street nearby, so good access to the center of town. Wifi is very well connected in public space. Food eaten here is more than excellent and reasonbly priced. It was my 3rd visit, and I'll def come back here next time. I'm already missing this hotel!

Great sized room. Good pool and access to the lake. Loved the Temezcal / sauna. Gardens were pretty. Staff super helpful and friendly. Didn't eat at restaurant as we preferred to eat out in town, but they were happy to bring us drinks by the pool. Liked staying in Santiago - the whole freak street traveller vibe in San Pedro wasn't for us. We liked being in a proper Mayan town, near market, restaurants, bars, but lovely to come back to island of peace at Tiosh Abaj. Read some of the less complimentary reviews - sure there is a slight air of fading grandeur about the place but for the price it was great.

Here's one of my best hotels in life. Cuisine, drink, food, nature surrounding hotel, and hospitality - all excellent.
