The staff were lovely, the location was great and the beds were super comfy. The shower was hot and powerful. We didn't use the little gym downstairs but we were able to refill our water bottle from inside. Breakfast was very nice - loved the Caju bowl in particular. The only small criticism was our toilet door didn't stay shut - it used to swing open

Offering an outdoor pool and spa centre, Castanheiro Boutique Hotel is set in Funchal, 500 metres from Marina do Funchal. Everything! Staff were great and location was 30 seconds to the old town with a ton of restaurant options. All the staff from the front desk to Carlos and Jose in the bar were extremely friendly and great at their jobs! Would definitely stay here again.

Located in the hills surrounding Funchal, this 18th-century mansion is set in extensive botanical gardens with 600 different plant species. All rooms have balconies overlooking the gardens. The all staff was excellent and going above and beyond to make their guests happy and well taken care off. Very warm welcome from the very beginning. The gardens are beautiful and the rooms are spacious. Great tips where to go from the very attentive shuttle bus driver and overall - great value for money with exceptional views overlooking the city and the ocean. A great place to go for a relaxing family/couple trip.

Orquidea opens out on to an extra-large roof-top terrace, overlooking Funchal and the Atlantic Ocean. This is a great-value hotel, simple and a little old and worn (call is "classic"!), but comfortable; the location is perfect; the staff was very friendly and helpful (Ronnie was the best!); it was very cheap, the breakfast was decent with a beautiful view. Overall, we got more than we expected and more than we paid for. Thank you!

We loved this hotel! The best part of the hotel was definitely the staff. We have never been to a place with such kind and hospitable staff!! The breakfast was tasty. It was great that you could choose any hour of the day to be the happy hour when the cocktails are half off. Definitely recommend this hotel.
