Greenlake House Tremezzina is such a cozy place that made us didn’t want to leave the house. It is situated at a perfect spot looking out to Bellagio and away from the crowd. The property has everything that we needed (cooking utensils, washing machine, microwave, kettle, fireplace with plenty of pallets, and the host Alberto was a very warm and caring person who looked after us very well. Without a car it would be quite challenging to reach as it is situated up in the hill, but for the view? Absolutely worth it!! Around the property there are so much to see even in the low season. Pier Lenno can be reached by walking downhill in 15 mins but probably twice as much the time coming up (again, very nice view so it’s worth it). We went to the local butcher and bought roast beef for Chinese fondue at home. It was top quality meat at very reasonable prices. Supermarket Canad is about 15 mins drive away toward Menaggio, very convenient when we need to pick up food and basic toiletry. All in all, staying at Greenlake House Tremezzina was an experience that we will always treasure!!

Paola and Alberto delivered an outstanding and exceptional hospitality throughout my entire stay in Lecco. After traveling for an entire day to reach their place, arriving late at 9pm, Paola still greeted me in person and provided the necessary indications. As the shops were already closed at that time, I was delighted to find a wide range of drinks, snacks, and breakfast available in the kitchen. The apartment was shining and felt very luxurious and spacious. Both Paola and Alberto provided excellent indications when asking them about multiple hiking routes. I ended up climbing Monte Resegone on my first day, the Grignetta summit and the spectacular Sentiero Cecilia on the second day (with great help from Paola to find me a taxi shuttle), and an easier Rifugio Rosalba from Mandello on the final day. To me, this was an excellent initiation into hiking the Italian Prealps, as Lecco is well connected with the nearby airports (1h30min by train from Malpensa with one change at Centrale) while also having beautiful hiking trails at its doorstep.
