Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere were some maintenance issues. The washing machine in our room wasn't working. Ahmet kindly did a couple of loads for us. The kitchen was poorly equipped (we didn't use it much but there wasn't enough crockery ot cutlery). I'm sure Ahmet would have supplied had we asked!
Ahmet is the kindest most friendly host. He is so generous & thoughtful. The location is in a quiet atmospheric street in the old city - Sultanahmet. We LOVED the location. It is close to Blue mosque & Hagia Sophia & it's an easy walk downhill (or take a tram) to the waterfront to catch ferries or go to the bazaars. There is a good little supermarket nearby & plenty of eating options. Ahmet provides free bottled water (unlimited). The included in-room breakfast is a nice touch! We would absolutely stay again in this property. It is excellent value for money!

RussiaMetro trains running close to triple room with see view (but not too often and not at night); TV has no channels available.
Great location within walking distance to both Hagia Sophia and seaside promenade; extremely friendly and helpful host; free breakfast served in room; free fast wi-fi connection.

SloveniaPlace was really really clean, but really really old.. :) location was great for sightseeing but nights can be a bit loud because of neighboors bar and cars especially if you are in ground floor
Our host was the kindest.. He aranged us breakfast anytime we wanted, we always had bottled water as many as we wanted, we saw that he really want to help if we needed something. Overall he is really goodhearted man. And location was the best. 4minute walk to Sultanahmet station.

JapanFirst, The location is very good and the room is clean. Ahmet prepared good breakfast, arranged transportation from the airport to the hotel and exchanged money in a good rate. Besides, he has a huge hospitality for all guests. He supported us as much as he could. It is not like a luxury hotel, but like an uncle’s house you can stay very comfortable and safe in Istanbul.

Ahmet is a fantastic host. Very friendly and helpful. He also organized my transfers. The location is central in the old town. Definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Istanbul.

United StatesMr Ahmet SAVED me. I had been very sick for 4 days and was becoming dangerously weak, I could barely walk. Right after checking in, he took me to a good clinic and stayed with me the whole day while I was on intravenous drip! Then he cooked me potatoes as it's the only thing I could eat, and he always made sure I was okay. This man is the kindest person I've encountered in my life. To get the chance to meet him is a good enough reason to come here, but rest assured you'll feel right at home in the comfortable suites with a wonderful view. I'm already planning to come back as soon as rooms are free.

CanadaMr Ahmed is the jewel of this place, he takes care of you as if you are family. The breakfast is great and he is always concerned about your well being. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. Great location in the Sultanahmet. Easy access to both main airports about 1 hour and a half away (by taxi though)

IndonesiaThey don't prepare the cloth hanger in the bathroom. It is quite difficult for us to.put our clothes when taking bath.
Mr. Ahmet and his son are very helpful. They treat us like family even serving us the breakfast early morning as we need to go to airport. They offer a good taxi rate to airport. Best recommended.

SingaporeYou get what you pay for in terms of the hardware and facilities (small toilet etc). But what it lacks in hardware Ahmet more than makes up for it in heartware.
Prime location, walkable to the main attractions like Hagia Sophia etc. The room was also nicer-looking than in photos, with a lovely sea view and comfortable bed. Ahmet was an absolute superstar, providing excellent and personalised service throughout my stay. He can be counted on to arrange private transport (even very last minute arrangements) at affordable prices, constantly offering me tea, even walked me to a nearby restaurant where he asked the staff to give me a discount, and served breakfast to me personally in the morning. He made sure I had everything I needed - at one point he got slightly drenched (in a suit) trying to get the hot water running for me. But he remains always passionate and happy whenever he speaks to his guests. The room also comes with bathroom slippers, shampoo & soap, which I wasn’t expecting for a budget hotel. Overall I would recommend this place for solo travelers (Cosy room) & a short stay.

AustraliaThe blue glow of the light fittings.
Ahmet and his son were incredibly helpful and friendly and can assist with booking things like Hamam, other tours, even best places to shop and restaurant choices. Close to all popular sites, set in a gorgeous, quiet area. Turkish Breakfast was included as were endless cups of tea & coffee. Room was clean, initially problem with shower, which was fixed promptly. Room was clean and perfect for our stay suiting our purpose. Note: there is a large step up/down into shower which could be an issue for someone with a mobility problem.

BulgariaThe room was quite small and was a little dusty when we arrived but that’s a really minor complaint comparing to the positive things.
The location was great, it was around 5 minutes away by foot from the Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet Mosque). It was away enough so there weren’t crowds of tourists at our street. The host was extremely hospitable and kind and gave us free breakfast every morning and even recommended us a nice restaurant with traditional Turkish food.

AustraliaThe appearance of the entrance can and should be improved. It will improve the first impression and could potentially increase room rates. This is friendly advice. The owner is just lovely, what is important and you forget about the little things.

United KingdomRoom was a bit cold but didn’t know how to turn on the heater but I didn’t spend much time in the room anyway so wasn’t too much of an issue
Was beyond accommodating and helpful, wanted me to feel at home and I did. Of course this isn’t a 5*hotel but definitely had a better experience here than I did at the 5* hotel before. Was always happy to give advice and even recommended me a nearby restaurant, walked me there and got me a discount. The sea view is lovely, I wasn’t expecting so many stairs to get to the top floor but that’s my own issue. Breakfast was the same each morning but tasty. It’s in a great location and WiFi worked well

SpainThe shower wasn't the greatest, but it did its job.
This was the opposite to the impersonal slickness of standard hotels. Ahmet's helpfulness and know-how were a great asset to our stay in Istanbul. What Happy Suite lacks in modern amenities it more than makes up for in human warmth. The location is great. Ahmet and his Happy Suite Boutique were both a refuge from the busy tourist whirl and a great resource to get info on doing fun things and not getting overcharged. We enjoyed our breakfasts, too. And evenings on the little roof terrace.

I want to especially thank Mr. Ahmet for his excellent service and for always being attentive to me and my wife. On top of all that, the breakfast at this place is delicious.
