Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe parking was a bit awkward to get into.
Our room was spacious, clean and had a stellar view of the river. Our meal in the on-site restaurant (featuring on tap wine from the Quinta) was excellent. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we had in Portugal. And we enjoyed the free winery tour.

AustraliaYou need to have good walking shoes on - it’s very uneven in parts but they do warn you about that.
Beautiful location overlooking the river. Room was a good size with en-suite bathroom, lovely view across the water to the town. Parking onsite. Some rooms a fair distance from main restaurant area. Snacks/pizza at Tim’s terrace were great. Food was excellent in main dining restaurant. Great breakfast included. 2 pools for guests to use. Short walk into small town for shops and other restaurants. Did the onsite wine tour and port tasting. Allow 15 minutes for check in as there is a lot of information!

United KingdomA beautiful property in a wonderful location, 15 minutes’ walk to the village and perched just above the River Douro. Pretty bedroom with excellent bathroom, very well-maintained. Fantastic breakfast, amazing variety and quality. Lovely staff, helpful and smiling. Ate dinner in the restaurant just once, it’s excellent but expensive. Enjoyed the wine & port tour & tasting, and a yoga session (in one of the port cellars!). Also enjoyed the carefully mapped wallks through the vineyards, the longer one affording amazing views across the valley and the river from the top. Staying at Quinta de la Rosa is expensive, but was a real treat.

United StatesThe Quinta was amazing, but be prepared for narrow cobblestone streets and steep dropoffs. This is not a place for small children because there are no fences. But this adds to the charm of the place.
Just outside of Sinhao, Quinta de la Rosa sits on a Douro Valley hillside surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, and has a beautiful view of the Douro River below. The restaurant was excellent and we recommend reservations well in advance. Our stay was beyond expectations.

United StatesA bit frustrating finding the correct room. The key is numbered while the rooms are named. The reception was closing when we returned so fortunate to not miss any employee. Enjoyed the tour of the winery and tasting.
Our room was very comfortable. The restaurant was very good for both dinner and breakfast.

United StatesRestaurant was very nice; main course and desserts very good as well but some prices (not shown) were very high, such as 4e for a liter of water. Also only four olives on the couvet where most other places we ate offered 12+ for similar price. Included breakfast at restaurant was good with large selection of items.
Large comfortable room; very clean, staff was helpful and cheerful. Pools were open and sparkling. Many areas to sit outside and sip wine while enjoying the view. No issue parking during our stay but we did visit in mid-April on a weeknight. Great experience; wish we had stayed longer.

United KingdomWe were planning a trip to Portugal and had never heard of Pinhao until we saw it and this estate featured on "Celebrity Race Across the World". It looked so wonderful, we built it into our plans. We were so pleased we did. Quinta de la Rosa is in a stunning position, with wonderful views from the rooms and the restaurant, all looking out over the river and vineyards. We took advantage of the free tour of the winery - an absolute "must do" for anyone staying there. It was led by an extremely informative and engaging guide, who showed us the whole process and explained the different wines and ports produced by this family run estate. We also paid for a tasting, led by the same guide. Again, he was superb at taking us through the different wines and vintages. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were also really excellent.

United KingdomA minor inconvenience.... we really didn't like the coffee that the venue served in rooms and restaurant. In our opinion, it has a sour after taste. For guests, the coffee making facilities are in a communal lounge down some stairs (not in bedrooms). This meant getting dressed and facing the world, without a coffee to help. We then couldn't drink the actual coffee. Coffee sagas aside, a great venue and we hope to be back! Be aware that many tourist visit options in Douro are by reservation only and often depart from Porto. So recommend you spend a bit of time booking the places you want to visit in advance.
We enjoyed our stay in Quinta de la Rosa's beautiful accommodation, delicious restaurant and exploring the vineyards. It is possible to walk to Pinhao (about 20min). We were made to feel very welcome and the restaurant was great. We had a wonderful time!

United KingdomPerhaps booking the wine tour and restaurant booking could be simplified for guests (rather than using different systems). Otherwise, everything was excellent.
The Quinta is in a stunning location with amazing views out onto the Douro. Our room was really spacious and had a great view. The products provided in the room were great and the complimentary lagers were a nice touch. We had a great stay and the restaurant was outstanding, we had an incredible dinner there. Breakfast was also great and we enjoyed the tour of the winery.
