Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalOnly a couple of small things: no iron (probably, we might have asked for it but it was not clear); it would be good to have drinkable water in the lobby; early check-out (at 10:30); and early breakfast (from 8:30 to 9:30) - tough for late birds, but on the other hand motivate to get up earlier and have more time to explore the surroundings.
1) the location is super convenient for those travelling by car (there is a private parking), but also for those like us travelling without it - the train station is easily accessible by walking; 2) the views are stunning, especially from the living room where they serve breakfast; 3) the room was spacious and just adorable with big windows, a lot of light (and blackout curtains), a very comfortable bed and lovely terrace; 4) the owner organizes tours to their vineyards and a wine storage / mini-museum (on prior arrangement) and it is a must do even of it's the only thing you have time to do in Pinhaõ; 5) the breakfast is modest but everything is of high quality and it's difficult to stay hungry and again, the breakfast room is so adorable that it's pleasure to have breakfast there.

United KingdomFor us this was a perfect place to stay. The walk into town was pleasant, and no problem at all given an average level of fitness. We would happily return if we visit the Douro Valley again.
A lovely family-run guest house, located a short walk (15 mins) from the centre of Pinhao, with good restaurants slightly closer. An absolute highlight of our holiday in Portugal was a tour of the family's vineyard, which we shared with a couple of other guests, and the wines they produce are delicious too!

United StatesIt is a 10 minute walk from central Pinhão and train station, on a road with no sidewalk (but very little traffic). We walked back & forth, even with luggage, but most people might prefer a taxi/Uber.
Beautiful house, everything feels new, solid, with a modern tasteful design. Each room has a private balcony with a gorgeous view. Perfect for a relaxing space after your touring. Really nice lounge room for breakfast or hanging out. Bruno is a very friendly host, speaks good English, and has his own vineyard for tours and tasting, which we thought was very good.

United KingdomA mirror in the bedroom near a plug would be useful. Everything else was great.
The guest house was in a perfect location and was very stylish. Owners were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was lovely and very clean. Breakfast was ok. Parking was a huge bonus. Views from the house were wonderful. Its an easy walk to town for restaurants and boat trips. Bruno has a vinyard and makes delicious wines. Definitely worth trying while relaxing in the lounge. Highly recommend this guest house.

United KingdomWe would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in our room. We hadn't realised that the road out of Pinhao goes right past the front of Dois Lugares - but it wasn't a busy road, so didn't really bother us.
The property is lovely, and our room was huge, with it's own terrace and a gorgeous ensuite. The breakfast was great - good choice, and in a cosy room with views and a balcony. The host met us and was very helpful, finding and booking a restaurant that would cater for vegetarians for us, and advising us about transport to and from Pinhao (about a 15-20 minute walk).

AustraliaEasy walk from the station. Welcoming family owners who gave a wonderful introduction to their vineyards and provided a tasting of their very nice wines. Spacious, comfortable room with a private outdoor deck and a great view, and a generous breakfast to set us up for a day of walking in the area.

United KingdomThe breakfast was good but there wasn’t any local produce. Also not much sound proofing could hear a lot of noise from other guests. Think we were unfortunate to have a couple returning late both night we were there and they had problems getting into room.
It was easy to find and easy to park loved the view from the terrace . Short walk into Pinhau. You had access to the kitchen area and lounge which was good as it had a kettle and fridge you could use .

United StatesRoom got a little stuffy at night but it has large doors to a patio that freshened things up quickly.
Bruno and his staff were super friendly and helpful. We had a little confusion when we wanted to check in early be they were very accommodating. He gave a tour of his vineyard, which was really beautiful. We did not have time to do a tasting with him but we did buy a bottle of his excellent wine. We would stay here again!

Dois Lagares House was easily accessible from the train station in Pinhão and walking distance to the restaurants and tours we chose during our stay. The view from the shared living room was spectacular, looking out over the Douro river. The home is clean, bright and tastefully decorated. Our room was comfortable and spacious, with a walkout to a small patio. The owner, Hugo, and his mother went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. A highlight of our trip to Portugal, for sure.
