Pedro was extreamly helpfully in providing what ever we needed, advice on local spots of interest and making dinner and tour reservations for us. Although the place is an older update, it was clean, comfortable and complete with everything we could need, and at a great price. A nice affordable apartment, not the Hilton.

There are a lot of steps up from the street! Didn't bother us, but might be an issue for others.

Close to the centre of Pinhao, the Douro is beautiful. Pedro, the owner, is great, very helpful guy. Have a drink (or two) and a sandwich in his bar Cafe Imperio opposite the station! He gave us some great tips for walks, brought fresh bread everyday to go with the breakfast food in the fridge, and sorted out our washing! Comfy bed too. This is simple comfortable accommodation.

Pedro was a superb host. Very friendly and very helpful. The casa we stayed in was homey and authentic, and nicely nestled in the hillside. Really enjoyed Pinhao and its beautiful surroundings.

Didn’t like the steep numerous stairs to arrive each time at room. There was no handrail on them which made it challenging.

Loved the amazing owner who was super helpful and great communication. Cute authentic place. Had everything included one could need. Fresh bread delivered to room along with other foods left in fridge by host. Lovely stay.

Cosy traditional and authentic apartment with all the basic facilities for self-catering. Vintage furniture and style. Pedro was the most friendly and helpful host. Short walk from trainstation and restaurants.

This is a very traditional Portuguese apartment which, although could benefit from an update, was well equipped, clean and spacious. Nice large bed which was really comfortable. Very preferable to a modern beige hotel room! The star of the show is the exceptional host, Pedro, who is so very helpful, pleasant and a font of useful local information!

The houses are at the top of a steep hill with stairs which we knew when we booked. Host helped us with our bags as the steps are steep and no handrail. If elderly with declining mobility it was a challenge but manageable just with the hosts help.

Our host went above and beyond to make our stay special. Having a communal terrace garden was an additional treat. Local tours and train journeys a must and our host was very knowledgeable in all things in the region, with wise advice on best value.

Wifi was slow, with dead spots in the main bedroom. Bit of a musky smell but was not a big deal. Hot water worked on and off. But also there is a kettle so again not a big deal unless you’re showering.

First of all the host/owner is so lovely, easy going and helpful. Very responsive. The room was stocked with juice, milk, coffee, tea, fruit, jam, 2 types of deli meats, cheese and bread. He also brought us fresh bread in the morning, and offered to bring us anything else we needed. Prior to arrival he sent us a detailed list of hikes, wineries, and restaurants, along with a couple maps! The room had AC/heating, extra blankets. Also has beautiful terrace.

Bed was pretty hard and so was the couch in the living room. Patio behind the room was nice but had no view. Steps to the room were very long and steep

All was fine but people should be aware that there are a lot of stairs going up to the casa.

Pedro and staff were so helpful and kind! Great location in Pinhao, mountain views, close to the river, restaurants, train station, etc. Clean with comfy bed! Local artwork! Nice breakfast provided. Games like dominos available as well!

While it was okay for us, other guests should be aware that there were 66 stairs to reach the apartment!

The host, Pedro, was helpful and responsive. The location worked well for our stay, near both the train station and the Pinhao boat pier.

Location was excellent right in the centre of the town within walking distance of everything - just 5 minutes walk to train station. There are stairs leading up to the property so not suitable for people who have mobility issues - but Pedro was very helpful and carried our bags up for us.

Perfect for what we needed. Large traditional apartment. All facilities. Great contact with owner who gave loads local information. Pedro also owns local cafe (Cafe Imperio) opposite railway station which was lovely traditional place

The location is convenient and quiet. Pedro thoughtfully stocked the refrigerator since we arrived on Sunday. Fresh bread, cheese and ham. Tasty orange juice. The instructions to find our host, Pedro, were clear and complete. He provided lots of great ideas for hikes, tastings and restaurants-an excellent host! Thank you.
