Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandWe wished to stay an extra night as the apartment was still free, however, when we texted the host about extending it, he tripled the price which was very unfair. We had to find accommodation elsewhere.
The apartment was spacious, modern and clean. The beds were comfortable. Good location.

AustraliaThe lobby that's is full of agent handling cash money and passing the room keys around, just seems a bit dodgy for '5 star' accomodation , maybe set up a corner or appropriate room or desk for them. Doesn't seem right just handling cash money just by the couch. Also the parking, as we type in the hotel address it's just doesn't seem right as it says the Faces Suites on the wall building and we're looking Platinum Suites or whatsoever on our booking. We had to make a few detour as we keep passing the entrance to the lobby as the surround them was full of those constrution orange cone and we thought it's not the entrance,so if they make the entrance with some sign saying to the Platinum Suites lobby would be better for the next guest so they won't have to make few rounds the city liek we did :( The room we stayed in didn't even have the tv input so can't even put the tv on, luckily we had ipad and free wifi in the room.
The 'infinity' pool, the views of KL city centre was magnificent, trying to get there when it's not busiest time (which is never) as everyone trying to get the picture of whole skyscrapers. But the staff was helpful enough and the pool guards was very strict not letting the people without proper pool attire in the pool which is fair enough and instruct everyone to get wash up under cold shower before jumping in.

United StatesWe didn’t have towels, or laundry detergent in our apartment. They brought up towels, but we never got the laundry detergent. The refrigerator never got cold. No smoking was allowed but found cigarette butts in one of the showers. Makes me wonder how the cleaning crew missed that if the room was cleaned.
Great location, Deep Blue Restaurant was very good. Our server, Joy helped make it a wonderful experience. Pool was beautiful.

South AfricaWarning to all travelers: My last stop after a 36-day journey and staying at 17 different places was the absolute worst at 'The Platinum Sky Park Kuala Lumpur.' While the infinity pool boasts a breathtaking 5-star view, the apartments themselves don't even deserve a single star. My first room had rotted, damaged floors, and the bed was infested with bed bugs—the sheets and mattress were of the lowest quality imaginable. It felt like a downgrade to a shoddy hostel. Also, beware of the hosts! They're quick to find reasons to overcharge you. I had to change my booking dates, and despite choosing not to stay my last night, I was still charged an outrageous 250 instead of the 135 rate listed on booking.com. This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had with a booking site. Travelers, consider yourselves warned!
The infinity pool and view from the 51st Floor, but there is so many great stays in Kuala Lampour i would NOT go for this pretty pictures

VietnamPlatinum Sky reception refused to book me in and i was told abruptly to ring the phone no on my booking confirmation booked through booking. com. and someone would come to me and I was asked to stand aside whilst sorting this out. I was approached by a man with a note book who asked me who I was and proceeded to ask for a damaged retainer deposit and would only accept cash. At no point during my stay did I have any interaction with Platinum Sky which seemed very strange and uncomfortable, I am still trying to decide who I booked with and who handled my booking. I will be making contact with the complaints department at booking. com. When I return home from my trip to get to the bottom of it.
The location of the hotel was good, and it was very clean, but poorly equiped, no knives 1 teaspoon, the equipment cupboards were bare.

NetherlandsCheck-in is conducted in the lobby of the building, where you are required to pay in cash for your stay, including a deposit. Unfortunately, card payments are not accepted. The building itself houses many apartments but is equipped with too few elevators, resulting in long waiting times. Regarding the apartment, it can succinctly be described as bland and underwhelming. It is spacious yet starkly undecorated, featuring numerous empty cabinets and showing signs of neglect such as a malfunctioning washing machine and a leaking air conditioner. The cleanliness is subpar, with dirty cabinets and peeling, grimy wallpaper. The apartment does not live up to the attractive portrayal seen in its photographs. I would not recommend staying here.
