How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The toilet does not tinted so we early morning on the light other people sleep will wake up. The signboard of room shown facility like do not disturb, clean room but there is no button to switch on, ask receptionist it seem they also don't know. I book the room for 2 person, while the only provide a door card, when I request they need me to deposit RM50.00 which is not fare even they return after check out.
the room is quite big as for the price paid

Inside the room, maybe lacking another chair?
Summer Tree is a perfect location in the middle of the city. Walking distance to food places. Overall is comfortable, clean and quiet. Real value for money. Highly recommended for others too

The only thing that i dont like is that the hot water supply is too hot.
The room is very clean and comfortable. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The hotel location is also strategic. Water dispensers are available also. Parking is available just in front of the hotel.

I ve requested for high floor but they give me a 2nd floor

The WiFi from my room was quite bad and not always reliable. I also didn’t have a window in my room.
Easy check in and it had all the essential things I needed. Also nice and quiet. They have water fountains and coffee as well as a laundry room. I walked around 20/30 mins to the main parts of George Town, which was fine for me. Clean room too. Shower was quite nice.

Walls are paper thin, Can hear people in other rooms and in corridors even with ear plugs Were contacted by the property a few hours before our stay stating that because we hadn’t yet paid for our room (booked through booking.com non refundable and pay at property booking) it was not confirmed. If we arrived after 6pm we were at risk of our room being given away and they wanted us to pay via a link. We didn’t pay and contacted booking.com and it was fine in the end but an unnecessary stress
Okay location (did get grab everywhere) but you can walk to main areas about 25 mins Laundry room downstairs to do yourself and cheap Staff friendly Clean Free water

During the time that I went it had water supply system problem in whole area of Penang. They stopped provide water in a whole city for 3 days. And I love the way that hotel try to solve the problem by providing a big water bucket inside the bathroom.

The location of the hotel is very good and convenience. It is within walking distance to most restaurants and food outlets and foodcourts. Moving around is easy by just getting e-hailing transport to most tourist attraction areas. What we like about the Lobby area of the hotel is that there is a blocked off area where guests can sit around and relax and enjoy some board games.
