Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAlthough the rooms were comfortable and we expected them to be small, we didn’t expect the bathroom to be so tiny. It was difficult to get in and out of the tub because of how high it was. Although housekeeping did a good job of tidying up everyday, there was a lot of dust in the room from before we even checked into our room.
It was in a convenient location close to the station and other points of interest. The staff were nice and there were convenience stores and restaurants in the building. The check in and check out process was easy as well.

AustraliaThe only issue l would have either this hotel is that the bed is hard and you only get one pillow we stayed in a standard single and it was enough room for one person. The bathroom is strange you need to “step into it” and the bath/ shower is very deep so hard for an older person to get in and out .
Very close to Shinjuku Station with an underground walkway from the hotel , restaurants and convenience stores located at the property. Nice authentic Japanese restaurants just a 5-10 minute walk away. Airport bus stops right out front the hotel .

AustraliaFirst night we were next to lifts (a bit noisy) so staff very agreeably moved us for the rest of our stay
Position was great, 10 minutes walk from Shinjuku Station. Lots of eateries and shops closer to station area. I love that you have choices about your room eg don’t make up or just new towels - less imprint on the environment

AustriaRooms are fairly small, especially as a couple. No space for luggage really, so would more recommend if you are travelling with light luggage.
The location is pretty decent, not in the middle of Shinjuku, but you can use the underground tunnels to get to the station easily and main Shinjuku area is about 20 minute walk.

AustraliaThe first room we stayed in was not clean. But the staff arranged us to move to a new room. Walls are a bit thin, but it’s the classic business style hotel
We had a problem with the room which the staff quickly rectified by giving us a new one. Great location.

ThailandRoom wall is a little old. Overall room and toilet is not sparkling clean. Bed not so comfy. You can't adjust A/C temperature.
Good value for money. Not too bad location to Shinjuku shopping area. (walking time 10-15 mins.) Luggage storage is convenient. Has shuttle service to airport (with fee). Spacey compared to other hotels near Shinjuku JR.

AustraliaWe stayed for a week and only twice did we manage to get amenities. The rooms were also very small that we had to configure some furniture to lay our luggage on the floor. The sole window above the bed was also dirty so we couldn't even enjoy the tiny view we had. Bed took pretty much the whole space. The on site washing machine and dryer was not worth it at all-- we had to use the dryer twice and our clothes were still damp even after. The breakfast buffet was also overrated. No booking required but have to go early to secure a seat or else will be stuck in the queue. The food options were not the best and we think is not worth the cost. You're only paying for the view (but if you're not by thr windown seats, you have limited view to enjoy like we did). We ended up enjoying food from the convenience store better.
The location is accessible to public transport and bus limousine (from and to airport). On site shops for early and late meals.
