Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkIt’s not really a minus - the breakfast is a little pricey but there is a decent choice of food. If you can eat much more in the morning I think it’s worth considering;) Btw the restaurant is also open during the day (didn’t check exact hours).
An excellent location, close to the metro, JR line - few stations to most of attractions. Absolutely amazing staff, helping in a second with everything. 14 floor - nice view from the window, you can wash your clothes, relax in the massage room… It’s really everything you need for few nights. I booked two nights but then extended my stay to four:)

Brunei DarussalamLove how zen the hotel is, it feels like a luxury hotel hidden away from the hustle bustle of Tokyo. The bed was comfortable & the amenities provided are simple exceptional. The closest station (suidobashi) was just 5 mins walking.

AustraliaI don't really have anything negative to say about Hotel Niwa.
The rooms are clean and beautiful, and all expected amenities are there. The location is great, in walking distance of Tokyo Dome, La Qua, and various train stations which will take you wherever you want to go in Tokyo in just a few stops. You are surrounded by many Family Marts,7-11s, and lots of restaurants. I highly recommend a stroll to La Qua to eat delicious doria and ride on Thunder Dolphin! Transport to Disneysea+Disneyland is easily accomplished by walking to Ochanomizu station or Suidobashi station, and travelling to Tokyo, then transferring to the Keiyo line straight to the parks. The staff are courteous with good command of English and were very helpful throughout my stay. I would happily stay here again.

AustraliaThere wasn't really anything I didn't like. Everything was to our liking. As I mentioned earlier on, the rooms could have been bigger and there could have been a facility for clothing.
The room was small and there was no wardrobe for the clothes. But we managed just fine. The room and bathroom was very thoroughly cleaned every day, we daily had new bedsheets and new towels. The location was excellent, only a few minutes walk to Suidõbashi Train Station and Tokyo Dome City. Family Mart and restaurants were also around the corner. We only had breakfast once, but it was plentiful to choose from - Continental-, Japanese and Hot Breakfast - and very tasty.

United StatesBreakfast was tedious. Eight days, exact same menu. Need a lot more variety. What was served was high quality. Didn't like that we couldn't open the window. No main lobby to really relax, small lounge was beautiful, but not comfy.
Very clean, very wonderful service from all that worked in the hotel. Nice relaxing room on 3rd floor, although not enough seating .

United KingdomI think it would be nice if the breakfast was included in the base price as it is already quite expensive - but that is a minor gripe. This is an ironic comment - as we are tourists from the UK, however our other stays within Japan had been with Japanese people and in non-western tourist settings - but it’s worth noting that this hotel was tourist heavy so other visitors were sometimes not in keeping with the atmosphere and behaviour we had become accustomed to in other settings. This isn’t anything the hotel could do anything about but maybe worth noting for other visitors!
We stayed in a Premium Twin Room (High Floor) and the room was beautiful, comfortable, and spacious. The bathroom also had lots of space and felt very luxurious. The hotel itself feels new and everything is thoughtfully designed and decorated, including the lounge area and rooftop terrace. We used the self service laundry area which was convenient for us near the end of our trip, and one morning we opted for breakfast - which had a great selection of both Japanese and western style food - and the waiter was lovely. The hotel is expensive in comparison to a lot of other options in Tokyo, but it is faultless.

United KingdomNothing.
We loved everything about Hotel Niwa. The rooms are really well thought out, amazingly comfortable and spotlessly clean. The facilities were excellent, the communal areas had a really nice atmosphere and the staff went above and beyond to help us. The breakfast was also excellent. We would stay here again without question. We moved to another hotel afterwards and this confirmed to us that the value for money offered by Hotel Niwa is just incredible.

Trinidad and TobagoIt's a nice hotel and we enjoyed our stay however the rooms were smaller than expected and although there was no traditional Japanese breakfast available during our stay, there was an extensive breakfast menu with a nice mix of options available. Location was good and easily accessible to nearby train satiation. The staff were very friendly and helpful!
