Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesMinor inconveniences were that the WiFi worked in the lobby but not in our room. And the water pressure in our bathroom was a bit low.
This place is AMAZING. amazing staff, amazing views, amazing food. I will definitely stay again.

ThailandThe public bath was exceptional, we could see the view of Mt. Fuji right in the bath. The fact that the hotel is basically right next to a (big) park makes it all the better. The dinner is also very posh.

United KingdomCan't think of anything!
Astoundingly good dinner and breakfast - regret not staying 2 nights. Japan as I hoped to experience. Dinner cost was really too low for the high quality of food and the experience.

United StatesOn the outside of the main town and the only way in and back is the hotel shuttle or taxi. Honestly wasn’t an issue for us but if you want to be within walking distance of things then maybe somewhere else.
This place was incredible! The view from our room was an unobstructed view of Mt. Fuji it was amazing! Extremely peaceful. The staff were extremely accommodating and kind. We almost weren’t able to catch our train for our flight home but one of the staff was kind enough to drive us himself outside of the shuttle hours when we didn’t have to. Really saved us with that. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. The public bath was amazing and spacious with an outdoor bath. 10/10 would 100% stay again!!

United KingdomRather quiet and lacked atmosphere which could be due to the size of the property. Property facilities could do with some updating.
Excellent Japanese breakfast and dinner, room was spacious, comfortable and had a fantastic view overlooking Lake Kawaguchi from the balcony. Beautiful park at the hotel's doorstep which offered fantastic views of Mount Fuji. Staff were polite, helpful and offered a great service. Thoroughly enjoyed the food during our stay.

United StatesThe facility was a bit outdated but everything was kept very clean and tidy! This is being a bit nitpicky and not any fault of the the hotel but during our stay it was quite a windy night and we had the room with an outdoor bath and wooden sliding windows. It was really windy so the wooden windows were rattling so loud that it was quite noisy and there was what sounded like a rooster crowing early in the morning that woke me up. My partner slept fine, I’m just a very light sleeper.
The view of Mt Fuji was absolutely breathtaking! They have a rooftop that has an unobscured view of Mt Fuji. We also booked the room with a view and were very happy with it! The free shuttles to and from the Kawaguchiko station was very prompt and tremendously helpful since there are limited buses to and from the hotel. All I had to do was message the hotel on Booking.com and they responded within minutes and sent the shuttle to pick us up. The customer service and staff were outstanding! Everyone was very nice and friendly.

MalaysiaHotel check out time is early at 10am, the building is relatively old but well maintained. This hotel need to be access via car/ taxi to the town area or bus station, or you can also walk about 10 minutes to rent a bicycle nearby to cycle around.
You can choose to include meals in your stay, which I strongly recommend. This Hotel also provided FREE shuttle service from 3pm - 7pm from Lake Kawaguchiko Bus Station, and morning Shuttle to bus station from 8am - 10am. This Hotel is located just near to Yagizaki Park, which is a great spot for photos of Mt Fuji, strongly recommend. Oh and did I mention the Hot Springs in the Hotel is really awesome, they have indoor and outdoor Onsen/Hot Springs.

MaltaMy only remark is that they should put soap on the sink in the toilet room (there wasn't any and we had to cross the room to the sink) but again the place and hotel were perfect and made our honeymoon memorable 💗
The hotel is amazing. We had a hot bath which was perfect after a day of walking. The staff were very professional and friendly. The traditional breakfast and dinner (which was included in our booking) were an amazing experience. They bring you a lot of food and we ended up so full 😄 they have public and private onsen. We tried the private onsen and we recommend people to try it :) the view of Mt. Fuji and the lake on the roof is amazing. The room came with the tatami floor and the room was huge. 100% recommend

United StatesI would have preferred a softer bed, but I am not mad about it. We had the western style beds mixed with a traditional room, and we expected it to be a bit firmer than we were used to.
I really liked the outdoor onsen. It was rainy and cool during our visit, so it felt nice to be in the hot waters and warm up after walking around. The location was fantastic too, great Fuji views from the roof.

FranceWe would have preferred having an explanation of the menu and how to eat some dishes or with what to start. Also there was not an emphasis on the possibility to reserve the private bath.
The view was amazing on the lake and near the lavender 🪻 field.. The outside bath with mont Fuji 🗻 was exceptional. It was an amazing experience wearing the Yukata 🥰.. The food was an adventure, discovering new texture and taste.. The staff were charming and super nice always with a warm smile 😊

IrelandThere were minor details that could be improved. The phone of the room was not working and the batteries of the toilet seat were off among 2 other little things, so they came immediately to fix it for us. They were so kind to even gave us chocolates to apologise for the inconvenience, a gesture that we truly appreciated. We would love to come back to visit you again. Thank you!
The calm atmosphere, the amazing and kind staff and the breath taking view. We really enjoyed the kindness and warm attention of all the staff, from restaurant to front desk. The set menu for dinner and breakfast was another level, even though we are not used to the traditional breakfast, everything was very very delicious. Very beautiful rooms with tatami floor having the most beautiful view of Mount Fuji along with a gorgeous neighbourhood. And traditional yukata to wear around the hotel. The hotel looks a bit dated from outside but everything inside is spotless. Very well maintained.

United StatesParts of seafood at dinner could be fresher and better quality. Heard from friends that it was good the day before so I was disappointed and expecting a traditional Japanese kaiseki style. I also did not like that the public sauna view was partly covered- you had to stand to see the view/Fuji.
I liked the shuttle service, nice staff and view of the lake from the room. I liked how well they communicated with me on booking.com about arrival and meal expectations.

United KingdomThe hotel was very quiet, no real communal areas or bar so not a lot to do after dinner, you just go back to your room.
Lovely Japanese style room, private open bath was fantastic with a beautiful view of Mt Fuji. Lovely roof top terrace with a great view of Fuji. Room had traditional tea ceremony set, fridge and toiletries that you need. We went half board and the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were both fantastic experiences, an enormous amount of traditional food at each served by the sweetest lady. You also get traditional clothing to wear to dinner which was great. Lovely and quiet location. Handy transfer to the station.

IrelandNothing to dislike. I wouldn’t say that language barrier is a negative thing as I am the foreigner coming to Japan so I should speak their language even just the basics, but the staff tried their best to acknowledge and accommodate me with their warmth and smiles and gracious attitude. So that is a plus plus point
I love the location, it is about 5 minutes away from the main town which is a plus as it is really quiet and relaxing then. Plus the fact that it is in front of a lake and with Mt Fuji on the side, you can’t beat that kind of feeling. The kaiseki was phenomenal and so gorgeous, the staff was amazing and accommodating despite the language barrier, but the warmth of the Japanese people is here as they try their best to connect and communicate with my needs. The room is something that needs to be praised - it is very well maintained and preserved, the tatami mats are so clean and the hot bath outside is *chef’s kiss* very wonderful experience indeed. I would definitely come back here.

Singaporeshuttle buses from kawaguchiko station to hotel only operates from 2.30pm onwards — we took about a 20-30min walk over & luckily the route was generally downhill 🥺
property was located within the quiet neighbourhood, right beside the lake kawaguchiko & yagisaki park! 🌸✨ our room highly exceeded our expectations, and we love the kaiseki breakfast & dinners we had throughout our 3d2n stay! 😋 we were able to deposit our luggage at the property early & the staff were really friendly & helpful! love the indoor / outdoor onsen experience as well with the lake / fuji view! female can also choose their fav yukata designs at the lobby! 🫶 there's shuttle bus every morning from the hotel to kawaguchiko station too, which was really convenient on our check-out day! great value for money — we loved it! high recommend!
