Our stay at K’s was near perfect. And if you factor in value for money, it was perfect. The check in process was clear and very welcoming. We loved the home-y atmosphere of the shared spaces. Our private room was the perfect size for what we needed (and easily fit my 2.1m tall boyfriend) and very clean

I would put a brush by the toilet so if you make it dirty, you can clean it yourself. Another thing I would add to the room key is a rubber band, so it will be easy to go to the shower/toilet without losing your key on the way.

The location is great and really close to the main station, a few minutes' walk which makes everything really easy. The common area is very nice, and you can easily meet new friends. The staff was amazing, Nick was so helpful. I told him that they told me at the info of Nohi Bus Station that there is no direct bus to Kamikuchi. He was sure there is, so he actually went to the info to check this! And not only that, the day after, I had no place to sleep. Everything was booked, and he was so kind and gave me recommendations of other places I can check, maybe with an available room. Chi was really sweet too. They even agreed to keep my stuff until the evening on the day I checked out. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable."

Less if you're looking for fancy hotel room to lounge in, if you're looking for a comfortable room to sleep but like having nice common areas, this would be a great choice.

Few minutes walk to train and bus station and 5 mins walk from center, lots of places to eat around, room very basic but comfortable and clean, nice vibe in lounge and fully functional and stocked kitchen. Great balance if you want a room by yourself but still meet people and chill (plus great rooftop views)

The shower room on the 4th floor is reaaaallly small, even by Japanese standards. Go to the 3rd floor instead.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. Nice rooftop terrace for a view of the city. Shoes dryer up there too (came in handy actually). Great Tex-Mex restaurant across the street!

This little Hotel /Hostel is amazing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and forthcoming. They did help in all things (I could even leave my suitcase for some time after my stay which is not happening in all places because of the space). The kitchen is very clean. You can cook your meal. The living room area is very cozy and well designed, the rooms are small, but very clean and especially the Tatami room was a beautiful experience. The Hotel is right in the heart of Takayama so it is a very good base for exploring the city and definitely worth coming back. Thanks to the staff members for making my stay so easy and lovely!

this questhouse is made en managed the way it should be: perfect. The kitchen, shower, toilets ect ect everything is good. Free Coffee ( already made) in the morning. good bycicles for rent ( lowbudget price) , umbrellas for the Rain and very helpfull and friendly staff. Reception is open from 08.00 - 20.00. . 5 min. walk from trainstation.

Check-in counter is on level 2 where there is no lifts to get to. Lifts are only available from level 2 to get to your floor you're staying in.

The staff were very warm and welcoming. The location of the hostel was only a few minutes walk from the JR Takayama station. We stayed in the Japanese-style room with futon. The futon was very warm for the chilly nights we had during our stay. Use of the shared kitchen and fridge was also kept neat and tidy by other guests as well. The balcony on the top level also has a very nice view of the mountains.

COMFY BEDS 🙌 (unusual in Japan in my experience so far, but my back and hips are recovered after 3 nights here!) So so clean. The privacy of a capsule with a curtain and cosy bed 'compartment', but a lovely lovely shared space where I met lots of people. Fab kitchen facilities. Great location (5 mins walk from train and bus station, right in the town). Good bathroom facilities.

Nothing, everything was perfect!

The staff is efficient and kind; the hostel has a lot of equipment and a big kitchen, it's clean and comfortable! There is everything you need. Bonus point: it's VERY very well located!
