Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandThe bed is super small. We are 2 adults and 1 baby. It is not comfortable at all. The public bath is crowded.
Not so far from the metro but a bit far from the Nagoya train station. You can walk to Nagoya Castle if you are not in hurry. A convenience store is nearby.

United StatesI would have liked to have had some nice face moisturizer and face essence. There weren't any facial care products, only shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Also, the room smelled like smoke so I left the window open all night. It was a little loud but I wore ear plugs.
I had to book a room last minute after the trains stopped running, and APA had almost everything I needed to be ready the next morning.

CanadaEverything was satisfactory! No issues at all.
The convenience, the easy access to the onsen. The room was comfortable. I managed to do some yoga in the room. It would be nice to have access to a yoga mat and possible space too :) I always like a kettle in the room for myself. No need for a coffee machine :)

GermanyWe stayed in an APA hotel in Shizuoka previously to Nagoya and encountered the same “problem” here. The ventilation system in the room is set to “heat” (apparently the whole system of the hotel is), which makes the room uncomfortably warm. To open the window you have to ask the front desk for a window handle. Because there is no ventilation possible we always woke up to massive condensation on our window (I’m talking puddles on the windowsill). The screen sharing (Netflix) that’s advertised on the tv didn’t work with our phones (iPhone and Android). The first morning they only gave us one new set of amenities and towels but we are sure that they would have given us another if we’d gone to the front desk - we didn’t really need them anyway. Maybe they thought there was only one person staying in the room, as the bed is quite small and could be a large single bed.
My partner loved Ofuro. It was my first time in one and it’s safe to say it won me over. The room was comfortable and the location was good. The staff was very helpful. There is a Family Mart right next to the Hotel.

United StatesMy room smelled like it used to be a smoker room and the sink drain smelled from time to time.
The location was great, not too far from Center park and Oasis 21. Subway was near as well, staff was accommodating and nice.

United KingdomRoom was not well ventilated because the handle of the window in one of our rooms was broken - which means the window cannot be opened - but the other room with the proper handle enjoyed fresh air. Wi-Fi was unfortunately extremely slow.
Extremely cost-efficient place. Bed and room sizes were not the biggest but remained reasonable. Shower was clean and comfortable, not to mention the luxurious outdoors public bath (and spa) on the rooftop. Takes a minute walk to the Marunouchi metro, and around 30 minutes to the Nagoya train station. Family mart directly downstairs.

JapanThe washing machine was a bit inconvenient. It was in the onsen area, so was subject to the onsen hours. I was almost locked out from getting my laundry, but there was a member of staff close by to help.
The onsen was a very nice addition. It was a great facility, with a very convenient location. Less than a block from the entrance to Marunouchi station. The room was a bit cramped, but the bed was comfortable.
