How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The windows in the rooms don’t open. It’s really strange and almost claustrophobic, surprising to have no fresh air in the tiny room.
Great onsen and well organised hotel.

The facilities were perfect, free public bath and swimming pool as well as a mini market inside the hotel, and the location was excellent within 5 minutes walk to trains and busses, there was also pleasant eatery street next to the station. Making up rooms was optional but composers every third day of the stay. The room was a bit tight but we beed it only to sleep, I would recommend this hotel.

The onsen was enjoyable, and the rooms are homey. This is definitely one of, if not, the best place to stay to watch the grand sumo competition. The Lawson's located inside the hotel also provided very useful materials.

The smoking room is too narrow for 31-floor hotel. The waiting time for elevators, especially those for higher floors, was too long.
Modern, clean hotel with great service. The personal at the reception is extremely helpful. Location is good: close to both metro and JR. The onsen is wonderful.

The elevator's took a long time to arrive due to so many floors, it would be good to be able to use the stairs too.

The elevators were pretty slow to come to the floor.
It was clean, quiet, and really close walking distance to some really neat spots.

Too many staff, any request submitted to a staff didn’t pass to another staff at the front desk. Room cleaning was poor since we found out-of-package chocolate candy on the bedroom floor at the first moment we’ve entered the room.

There were only 2 microwaves in the entire building situated on the lower ground, a bit of a way from the 25th floor, especially at busy times when the lifts were not always available. Maybe having a microwave each floor would be a better option? Would have been great to have a way to show when the laundry room was busy, a bit like they showed how busy the sauna was.
Great staff, clean room and bathroom, comfy bed and pillows (even if the room was tiny).

During the winter the hallways are always very cold. I wish there were a microwave on every floor rather than only on the basement. I would prefer if they would give a courtesy call to our room the morning of their mandatory housekeeping, because they went into our room on the third day of our visit and weren’t informed of their mandatory housekeeping days.
The facility is always clean and restocked with amenities upon each return to the room.

The elevators! Despite having six elevators, they did not cope with the demand and efficient movement of people within the hotel. This proved very frustrating - at times, we waited up to ten minutes for an elevator to arrive. Breakfast was expensive and many food items were cold rather than warm. We needed to ask for extra pillows - we found the pillows uncomfortable.
The location to Ryoguku Station - it is on both a subway and a JR train line. Having a 24 hour Lawson’s on site was very convenient. Public onsen in basement was great!

Lift solution was not the best considering the number of guests, alongside them being the primary access for facilities on site.

Small bed rooms and hard pillows . Buffet dinner is not worth.
This property is close to the train station, hospital, shops and got a convenient store in. Very clean.

The room too small and we difficult to open our luggage.
Near station and good resort. I like there is a Lawson Supermarket, when I need something, I just walk up from the lobby.

Similar to other APA hotels, rooms are a bit stuffy, and do not allow opening the windows. For a single person it would be okay, but for two people it is not so great.
One of the hotels of the APA chain, the rooms are small but very well equipped and allow even a long stay. The location is great and allows easy travel. Having a supermarket in the building is very convenient.

Just the general of most hotels in japan. Its the need to cover tattoo in spa, but not a big problem.
The place is very convenient, a short walk to train/taxi station, the staff is very nice and welcoming
