How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Be nice to have a fridge or kettle. Nice to have coffee when you wake up
Super clean, great staff. 15 -20mins walk to old town. Felt more like hotel. Amazing restaurant downstairs with the most lovely staff

An improvement would be to include a blind or voile at the window, as well as the the curtains, for added privacy as the room looked onto the street and was opposite the camper van park.
Room included air conditioning which was welcome. Clean bathroom with good shower and good quality towels. Spotless bedroom with good quality bed linen. Prompt communication from staff to message enquiries made. Great location near to rail station and about a 15 minute walk into the centre of Verona.

Nothing. It served me well for my purpose and I was grateful for the chance to rest.
It has a check in time, so if you are late arriving, you might not get a key to a locker. It wasn't a problem, though. The place is of good quality. I would stay again, if the opportunity arose.

Hoped there was biden in bathroom. Also no electric kettle was there.
Modern hotel with smart tech and very clean. The location is very good as it is in quiet area in middle way between train station and tourists area. Also it has view on canal with beautiful trees and close bus station. The room is clean and booking process was clear. They have restaurant in -2 floor. Nice staff and great value price per night

Everything ok
The hostel is located close to the train station and 15 minutes walk to the Verona arena and the historical area of Verona. Easy check inn, the young lady from the reception desk very nice and helpful. Big room, nice and big bathroom, very clean.

Would have been nice to have a kettle or a coffee maker in a room or somewhere in a common area of a hostel.
The hostel is in a quiet part of the city, just outside the city center. We stayed in a double room with a balcony and it was more like a hotel room, than a hostel. Simple, clean, quite big, had floor heating, which was a plus. Everything was great. Also, there's a really nice bakery very close to the hostel (pasticceria Gloria).

The room was very clean. It was near the train station but it was difficult for us to go to the center on foot because the roads were under construction. But for one night was good!!

Sadly no kitchen facilities. The main issue though was the restaurant/bar below my window which was noisy until about 11pm. Thankfully it stopped then, but I did lie there thinking will this carry on until midnight. I sent a message around 10:30 but did not receive a reply. However the receptionist did apologise in the morning
It was quite easy to find (despite the major road works going on!) and is a funky building. The room was a little on the small side but ok. The hostel was very clean and the communication was great.

I wish it had a vending machine or something where you could buy a snack/drink in the hotel/reception.
The room was clean & good value for money. The bed & pillows were comfy.

Bad for socialising, no kitchen and nobody at the reception the majority of the time.
Very nice hostel, clean with great facilities and for a decent price.

There was some slight noise in the room from the ventilation fan.
Good size of the room, location close to the station and 15 min walk to the city centre. Check in was straightforward. All very clean and new.

Maybe provide a few more facilities such as coffee machine? There isn't really anything beyond the room.
