Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

What an amazing place...Eduardo was so helpful and accommodating. The apartment was clean and well equipped with a fridge and bathroom products. Mamma was a gem - so lovely, kind and the breakfast really set you up for a day of sightseeing!

TurkeyThe only thing I didn't like was that I only stayed for 1 night. May your success always be 🍀
- First of all, I should point out that I am a graduate of the tourism and hotel management department and therefore I have sufficient knowledge about accommodation opportunities. - In my opinion, I experienced the comfort of a 7-star hotel. Comfort is not just about large spaces, beds or TV channels, but it also means spending your trip happily. - Even in a 5-star hotel, you have to check out by noon, so the check-out time of the place was very reasonable. - The building smells of history. It is a traditional building, not old. Rome is a city that has witnessed and even written the history of humanity. Expecting skyscrapers, smart houses or modern residences here is a bit fanciful. - The bathroom may seem small to some, but since it fits a fat and disabled person like me, it is not as narrow as it seems. -If you really want to travel around Rome, you have to walk because you can come across a historical building somewhere at any moment. In this context, some of the known tourist attractions are in opposite directions to each other and this place is right in the middle of them all. -

AustraliaThere is nothing that you won't like about this guest house.
Our stay here was fantastic from start to finish. We were made to feel so welcome upon arrival. Momma went out of her way to ensure we had the best stay, starting with a lovely breakfast of coffee, juice, and crossiants every morning. The location is great and within walking distance to most attractions and the main train station, but far enough away to not be bothered by all the crowds. We were sad to leave as we felt so comfortable staying here and would recommend this place to anyone.

CanadaOnly 2 minor complaints. -The shower is a bit outdated and drains slowly. - Neighbors are noisy and yell at night until 1 AM or so and there is a lot of echo outside
It was truly exceptional. The family was super kind. They were kind to accommodate us with an earlier breakfast because we had planned a busy day! They served us homemade pastries and coffee. The bed was comfortable.

ArgentinaNothing bad! Everything OK!
We liked absolutely everything about this accommodation. We highly these points: 1) We arrived late, at night, and we had a simple way of access to our accommodation using digital codes, which was very convenient for us. 2) The building has an elevator, so you don't need to make any effort with your luggage. 3) All the facilities are renovated, and in particular our room and bathroom were very comfortable, spacious, modern and welcoming. 4) The host, Jacinta, is very friendly and helpful, and she gave us very tasty breakfasts that we could eat comfortably in our room (we have chairs and table in our room). 5) The room was quiet to rest in, with windows with good acoustic insulation. 6) The location of the building where the Guest House is located is excellent, so you can walk to the main tourist attractions of Rome.

CanadaNot a major problem bed was big enough but it did dip a little in the middle so we kept rolling together.
Location was great for touring Rome. Metro and rail not to far. Comfortable and interesting. Very Italian style building with restaurants and bar only few steps away. Very kindly allowed us to leave our luggage for a few hours on our last day. Would happily stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

South AfricaAlthough the bed was comfortable enough, I would recommend looking into replacing the mattress at some stage which has a slight slope to the middle.
Very friendly and caring host. She took care of breakfast with cappucino, juice, pastries and yoghurt. The room was clean and we enjoyed our stay. There are restaurants below and a small supermarket.
