Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe didn’t know it was a spa also on booking or we would have packed something to use the facilities.
Its location in the heart of Rome. It was a spa adjoining a restaurant

AustraliaIt wasn’t great value for money apart from the location. The breakfast didn’t have a lot available and a lot of the room features seemed cheap. The reception staff were lovely though and tried incredibly hard to make the trip as enjoyable as possible.
Great location and the staff were lovely.

Czech RepublicThe neighbourhood was rather loud the whole night, but this was no big surprise. We stayed 3 nights and the breakfast buffet was the same every morning. The matresses were too soft for my liking. And the see-through bathroom is rather a miss for me - despite having a courtain, don't expect any privacy, neither visually nor audibly.
The position is perfect - the hotel is basically just around the corner from the Colosseum and Forum Romanum. The restaurant on the ground floor is a great addition, very tasty pizza and pasta is being served there. The breakfast on the roof is great touch up and the hotel staff were totally helpful and accommodated us in absolutely everything. We spent the most of our days outside and Residenze Argileto was a wonderful anchor to spend our night at!

Absolutely fantastic location. Very near to Colosseum, so it nice to go back after sunset when the place isn't crowded anymory. The hotel is still in a walking distance to many interesting spots.

ItalyOnly one point: they should re-establish the 24 hour presence at the reception. I had a problem with a demagnetized card at night and nobody answered my calls after 10 pm on the emergency nr. I was refunded for that problem, but this system just doesn’t work if someone is not systematically on call in case there is any problem after 10 pm.
Location is wonderful and the rooms are beautiful. Breakfast on the terrace also really pleasant, and staff very welcoming.

United StatesSince there was no reception area (under construction) we missed having hotel hospitality and service. Things were not explained to us when we checked in, such as where to go if we had questions, how to access the spa which we had paid for, how to book massages, where the supposedly free drink was offered. Some days we were only given one bath towel and a couple hand towels. We should have preferred to keep the ones we had rather than being shorted on towels. There was fruit provided in the room along with a hot pot for coffee and tea. That counter was dirty and crowded. There was a street musician who played well but endlessly looped the same songs near the forum and we got tired of hearing it especially during siesta. We did not try the breakfast. The terrace where it was served was lovely, but the jacuzzi up there was filled with cold, dirty water. There was a general lack of hospitality and attention to details (partly used toiletry bottles, overripe fruit, no soap in one of the showers in the spa, no way to light the candles down there, no tour to acclimate us) that luckily didn’t ruin our stay as the room worked well for our purposes.
The location is fantastic. We loved the quiet streets of Monti and walked everywhere, just caught a cab back to the hotel one day when it started to rain. The room and bathroom were beautiful, spacious, modern, comfortable. We appreciated being on the fourth floor and having a bit of a view of the street, sky and rooftop terraces.

DenmarkThe view. There was none. Small window looking into an alley. + late start for breakfast, which is not served until 8am. I was working and had to leave by then, but it would also not be good if traveling with small children who wake early and are hungry.
Overall it was great. Cool rooms, clean, comfortable bed, very nice staff who helped with whatever was needed. Nice welcome bubbles and fruit tray, which is one of those nice touches that makes service unique. Accommodating and helpful staff. breakfast was a bit late for me due to work , but they were very nice and accommodated that I arrived early at breakfast. For tourists, it's in the middle of everything.

Czech RepublicThe shower was NOT cleaned before our stay. Very loud smell of urine in the shower. Hair on the toilet when we arrived. Breakfast was infested with bees so that wasn't very enjoyable at all.

United StatesIf you open the windows it shuts down the AC and I had to have mine reset by the front desk to get it to work again, so had some uncomfortable warm time in the room.
New and modern but in an old building just a few minutes from the Forum. Less busy street but has adequate options for dining etc.

United KingdomThe spa was small and had an odd smell, in particular the jacuzzi.
The staff were very accommodating and friendly, the room was very clean and of a high modern standard. The en-suite was luxurious. Breakfast was fresh everyday with a decent amount of variety -served on the roof terrace. Room was a little smaller than expected but it did not disappoint. Location was incredible, could walk to most of the tourist spots. Our favourite pizza in Rome was just a few doors down, very reasonable prices and we discovered it was linked to the hotel. There were actually many places to eat/shop on the authentic cobbled street. Would definitely recommend.
