The room was a little noisy from the outside hustle and bustle. Better acoustics would have been great.

Relais Della Porta is just fantastic!! Secretly hidden behind an ancient barn style doorway and up several levels, you leave the huddle and bustle of Via Toledo (Main Street) behind and can relax in the very private hotel which occupies several levels of the building. Staff are impeccable with their service and kindness and were happy to (and skilful enough) to explain everything to us in perfect English. An excellent breakfast and access to coffee machine was included in our stay in the hotel’s attached ancient dining room which we were given a tour and explained the history on arrival. Our room was inwards facing which was very well appointed, clean and comfortable. At the time there was some scaffolding work taking place right outside the balcony window which blocked any view of the below courtyard. There was nothing wrong with the room but after our first night we enquired if an outwards facing room was available in order to see more of the street life. The receptionist kindly informed us that we could be moved to the 5th floor with more of a view. Well, the result was AMAZING! 180 degree views looking back towards the main hillside and Castel Sant’Elmo, across the city roof tops and down to the buzzing street below. Thank you Hotel Relais Della Porta for an unforgettable experience of Napoli. Would highly recommend.

After getting to the hotel in a quaint way, one gets to a beautiful breakfast room/library with baby grand piano, reminiscent of a Room with a View. Excellent breakfast, great cakes, time to play the piano, spacious rooms, and great support in organizing different tours in the Napoli area. Thank you!

Originally, we were assigned to a 2 floor apartment but I explained that my husband (85 years old) had difficulty with steps. We were assigned a beautcul room with no stairs!

Breakfast was excellent - breads, eggs, cheeses, vegetables, tomatoes, cheeses, meats, sweets and excellent coffee. The staff was youthful, accommodating, and PRESENT! They were all willing to help us.

Communication- This is an expensive hotel and when we got there we found out the standard room we booked had a steep marble stair case down to the bathroom, with NO handrail (!) - it was fine for one night but I certainly think the hotel should let you know the situation ahead of time and that if they have a room with bathroom on the same floor it is more money (of course)- It was the only thing we disliked as it was a significant situation.

The hotel is lovely, they welcome you with a nice glass of wine- the courtyard is a great place for breakfast (which was delicious and worth the 20 dollars, fresh eggs one could actually eat!)- Staff friendly and helpful- perfect location for exploring the city

We got a different room than what we reserved. They said we were upgraded but the room had the bedroom upstairs and not convenient to take luggage up there. Shower was tiny, bed blankets were dirty, there were stains on the sofa and the chair and it took almost two hours to get the tv and internet to work.

The breakfast was amazing with lots of choices.

The breakfast wasn’t as good as reviews had said, so we were a little disappointed. But still a very good breakfast!

Breakfast was fantastic and location is excellent too. As a bonus there is local market just asid of the hotel you should not miss if you are interested with local shops etc. Room was very comfortable and quite. Staff are extremely helpful to make your stay unforgettable . Ceiling of breakfast room is amazing yuou feel yourself in the museum :-)
