Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgDinner. It was a 30€ pp menu which was absolutely not worth it (quality not quantity). For that price in Alghero we had fantastic dinner in local restaurant.
The pool and the beach. Also diving club. Highly recommended

IrelandI didn't understand why the pool was closed from 12 to 3pm everyday. Lunch menu is basic and expensive for what it is.
Stunning and peaceful location in the national park. Beautiful beach directly in front of the hotel. Room and hotel itself were spotless. Only 10 minute drive to the Alghero old town and 45 minute drive to La Pelosa beach in Stintino.

RomaniaThe restaurant was opened only during specific hours. Poor breakfast, no diversity.
There was something new at dinner every day. The pool was amazing, especially for the kids. There were free sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach, just in front of the hotel. Private beach. Exactly like in the description.

United KingdomIt was difficult to get food. We were without transport and I have slight mobility problems so getting to local eateries was hard. Very little provision at the hotel - unless you book half board.
It was all lovely. We had to stay an extra night because of circumstances beyond our control and fortunately were able to, which was great. Beach was really nice.

RomaniaFull of mosquitos and flies. And when I say full , is full. If you have only bed and breakfast you don,t have what to eat at the pool. At the restaurant closes at 14 o ,clock . And they serve a few meals at lunch or dinner. The personal very unfriendly. The rooms very poor cleaned. The towels at the beach if you want to change them , you have to pay. They give you towels only once for all your holiday. The sunbeds on the beach are always reserved, at the pool the same, at breakfast the tables as well . You have to make reservations all day everyday . Even if it is a hotel , everything closes after lunch till 19 o,clock. I don,t recomand it at all.
The location is perfect . Very quiet place , perfect for families with kids.

United KingdomThe food was terrible! Breakfast poor, raw or overcooked eggs, greasy bacon, cheap ham, stale cereal and no food apart from stodgy pre-made cheese/ham paninis in the bar, which ran out at 2pm! Then nothing until an over priced and unpleasant 3 course meal at 7.30. We (and others) sent the suckling pig back twice before having overcooked swordfish for 35 euros. The swimming pool was roped off and closed between 12-3.30pm - totally ridiculous. It was also very expensive - no tea/coffee facilities in room - only one tiny shower gel/shampoo per day - and some of the bar staff were downright rude. They are resting on their location laurels but the nearest town - Fertilia - is also run down, dirty and with a few pizza style bars and one up market restaurant. The local Ballarini bar is the best place to eat locally but a 10 minute drive away.
The location was beautiful, but very remote and not possible to walk into local town so a car rental or being on a tour group (of which there are a lot) is a must. The hotel was v clean. There are some lovely beauty spots and beaches nearby although at the height of the season to reserve a sun bed is 20 Euros, the beach is spotless and the water very calm and shallow.

ItalyI didn’t like the fact that umbrellas were all attached one another, leaving no space nor privacy to customers. Also, although the policy was clearly ‘first come first served’, other customers or the lifeguard, for that matter, can simply decide to take away your staff and occupy your spot themselves. beyond the receptionists (who were all professionals), I found the staff at the breakfast hall extremely rude. Customers in B&B were not attended, treated poorly and left waiting for a table. No coffee served in an Italian 4- stars hotel, only 3 machines (one out of service for at least 6 days), with poor quality coffee, same for the orange juice (basically water). Yoghurt with mold!
The beach, as such, but definitely not the fact that umbrellas were all attached one another, leaving no space nor privacy to customers. Also, although the policy was clearly ‘first come first served’, other customers or the lifeguard, for that matter, can simply decide to take away your staff and occupy the spot themselves.

SwitzerlandThe hotel does not have his own shuttle bus. The guest has to pay 30.- Euro per course. The beach is partially free the rest you have to pay 21.-Euro per day. You can not have dinner if you did not take half board. The informations received abt buses, transport and fees were wrong and we found ourselves on wrong busses and in the middle of nowhere. Every morning at 7:30 the noise with furniture being moved around by cleaning stuff woke us up. We came to rest after a painful year. Impossible to sleep in the morning. The hotel had real loud Rap Music in the morning and in the afternoon for at least 3 hours each.
The sea and the beach is very nice. The hotel is very clean. The outside of the hotel is well maintained. Breakfast buffet is ok The view is nice.
