How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Hotel was beautifully furnished and clean. Location was great too, very close to some great restaurants and the Spanish Steps. The staff really went above and beyond to book transportation for us and to assist us any time we had questions. We would definitely stay here again!

It would have been great to have had the towels changed every day. Very difficult to get them dry with just a hook to hang them on.

This is a fantastic hotel in the very best location. The staff are all wonderful and very helpful and the room was modern and extremely well maintained. I highly recommend staying here for any trip to Rome.

The establishment is quite old. My room didn't have a window, which I expected because the picture on the website showed that it was like this. I feel like there's a lack of security with the use of Keys.

We could have had two pillows / thicker pillows per person but we asked at reception and the staff were all too eager to sort it for us and we had our extra pillows before bed time!
A simple, comfortable room without frills, in an excellent location near Piazza di Spagna, precisely the sort of hotel room needed for a couple visiting Rome to see Rome and not wishing to spend too much on accommodation. Excellent restaurant just opposite the hotel with many choices for food locally.

Room soundproofing - I could hear the street noise in the morning, but I still got up early ...
A very pleasant, strategically located smaller hotel in the centre, very close to the Spanish Steps and Spagna metro station. I was pleasantly surprised by the staff at the hotel - I travel a lot, but I've never met such nice, helpful and friendly staff, especially at the reception. They do an excellent job! The hotel rooms are clean, nicely decorated, the bed is very comfortable. Next time I go to Rome, I will definitely stay at this hotel again!

Nothing, everything is perfect.
The room seems a bit more spacious that it seems like in the picture, with a little balcony to oversee the restaurant in the opposite side of the street. The room is cleaned everyday and is maintained in a very good condition, despite the fact that the hotel is a constructed at 1930s and is run by the same family for 3 generations ( this is what is said on the sign outside their front door). The hotel itself is antique and decorated very lovely.

Unfortunately for us there were renovations being here which we were only informed about a few days prior. Also would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room but that’s just a preference.
The location was excellent, easy to find with lots of good restaurants, cafes and shops. It was a busy area but not noisy at all. The staff at the hotel were excellent, helpful and always someone around. The room was cleaned daily and everything was spotless. Very happy with this hotel.

I would have rated the hotel 10/10, but the hotel clearly needs a refurb, which they were doing while we were there. In all fairness, we went during the low season, so the much-needed maintenance is to be expected and this is why I still rated them highly. It did, however, mean we had to deal with workers banging away, dust, and so on. This should not deter anyone, though,because by the time you book, the hotel will be looking great again!
I love this hotel and it's staff so much. It was our second consecutive stay here and we'll probably book here again. The location is perfect for reaching most central Rome attractions and restaurants. It's 2 minutes from the underground station, the staff is friendly and the accommodation comfortable.

There is a bathtub in the room, but the water faucet does not work...

The room was small, and a little noisy in the street at night, but overall it was great.
