Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

ItalyIt is in a residential building, so the host is coming from another place to meet you, so make sure to call beforehand about the timing. Also, because on Booking website there is one phone number and on place another number for contacting them, so it can be a little confusing. The bathroom is cleaned daily, but as it is common the cleanness during the day very much depends on other guests. Shower-gel/shampoo packages are provided in bathroom, however they might be insufficient for the amount of guests. In our room we had sets for only two people: two sets of towels, two cups for tea, two glasses for water... I am sure it was a simple mistake, which could have easily been fixed, but we realized too late and didn't called them to come all the way back to hotel. For us it was not a problem, but keep in mind that there is not much storage place (just open hangers, no wardrobe). Also, if you want, you can arrange to keep your luggage for a day in hotel, for that you have to call them to come to hotel (and again, call them to come to hotel to collect it), but keep in mind that it is 5 euro per bag.
The place is not far from the train station, which is very convenient. We stayed in triple room with one double and one single bed. There were an air conditioner and small fridge in the room. Also, there was a kettle and some tea-bags for us.

United KingdomProper communication with the owner would be nice. I was informed to meet for the keys and I arrived at Lia Room 3 on time but Lia Room 3 is not the proper place for any reception. Waited half an hour at the doors of Lia Room while the owner said I only had to wait 5-10 minutes. Room's floor was slightly sandy as well.

IrelandFor the price, the place was barely up to standards. The socket on the bed wasn’t working, the rack for towels kept coming off the wall, the shower head continuously fell while washing your hair which was very annoying, the door handle getting into the room kept coming off. There is a kettle there, but no tea or coffee. We messaged to ask if we could control the AC but got no reply, the room was cold at night but we couldn’t seem to find a remote to turn on heat. The place was very clean though, but for the price it could be in better condition
The staff were lovely and friendly for the short time we met them. They were able to accommodate an early check in so we could catch a train, which we appreciated it! Great location for access to train station / Cinque Terre.

Location is great, slightly outside the city centre but just a 5 to 10 min walk. Clean and spacious room with clean shared bathroom. The lady who helped with check in is lovely and helpful and made good recommendations. Because there is no reception, the lady made sure she made arrangement for check in :-) Anything more, would need to spend to stay at a 5-star hotel else this accommodation is great!
