Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWindows have mosquito nets, but they all are lose; thus the mosquitos got in and bothered us at night. The apartment is on the second floor but the stairs are VERY long. This did not bother us but should be considered if someone has health issues.
Phenomenal location, 3 min walk from the Uffizi gallery. Very clean, with a nice inside the building terrace. Mario, the owner, is very nice; he met us in person despite our late arrival and gave a few great dining recommendations.

United KingdomThe mattress wasn't comfortable and the toilet button doesn't work properly. Maybe the space needs to be painted, there are nasty marks on the roof upstairs and on the bathroom's walls.
Mario and Maria were very nice and professional. Good communication, online with Mario, and in person with Maria. The place was lovely, cosy, with an excellent location. The kitchenette, bed linen/towels and the toilet were clean, and the space was comfortable with a good size double bed, big table with four with chairs, and a sofa bed.

ItalyThe apartment is built in what used to be a medieval tower. This means that the walls are around 1mt thick and there won't be any cellphone reception while you're in there. There's WiFi but the connection is now really powerful, I would advice downloading movies beforehand if you plan to stay in in the evening. The position of the bed is a bit too close to the ceiling, be careful when you wake up!
This apartment position is exceptional! 20 minutes walking distance from the train station, extremely close to Uffizi Gallery, Piazza della Signoria, Gelileo Museum, Ponte Vecchio. Plenty of restaurants and café nearby.

United StatesOur room seemed a little "older" than the photos online. The bed wasn't the most comfortable and the futon couch was not expected, nor was it comfortable to seating or sleeping. Also, bring your fees in cash...
We loved the location and how close we were to all the sights of Florence (6 minute walk to the duomo). There was a washer in the room which we took full advantage of. When you walk out onto the street from the property, you are right next to cafes and sandwhich shops.

IranThe location is perfect. I mean it. I loved our host ,she was so kind and welcome to us. I place is very nice and kitchenware was good for our needs, the only problem was beds , not comfortable enough and math was tight and uncomfortable. The bathroom was not clean ,of course some one cleaned all place before we arrive but bathroom was not cleaned well from months ago. If I return I book again because I loved the energy of the place .

SpainUnfortunately there were some intermittent construction noises nearby, probably just occasional but annoying nonetheless.
The terrace was great, we had breakfast there a couple of times. Also the apartment was very charming and so close to everything we wanted to visit.

United StatesTwo very long flights of stairs to carry heavy suitcases up. Low ceiling above the living room area felt cramped. Strange little stairs and low, wire barrier at the stairs were difficult to safely negotiate down at night to go to the bathroom. Television only capable of one channel because of bad remote. Noisy at night with loud talking and a dog barking.
Good location, clean, charming

A perfect location and a nice apartment with a full kitchen and nice terrace. Just 5 minutes walk to Uffizi--hard to do any better. Reasonable price.

CanadaAs many have mentioned, if you're carrying a lot of large luggage, you'll have to spend some effort lugging it up 2 flights of long stairs. It's not an issue for my travel since we had backpacks. The bed is on an upper level that is close to the ceiling, there are structural ceiling beams that are in the way of getting to the bed; you have to watch out or else you will hit your head multiple times.
Rental apartment was situated in an amazing area; right in the middle of a street with lots of restaurant options and close to all the major sightseeing points/attractions. It is also close to the river so crossing it is just 2 streets and a bridge away! The facilities included (fully equipped kitchen, washing machine) were great for both a short and longer stay.

Mario personally welcomed us to the apartment and showed us the ropes. He gave us an excellent restaurant recommendation - Trattoria Roberto - which was a highlight of our stay in Florence.

NetherlandsThe are a lot of stairs to get up to the apartment, which is normal because it is in old building in the city centre. Just keep that in mind.
Right in the centre of Florence. Everything is really close and all main tourist attractions are not further than 15 minutes walking distance. Lots of good restaurants and shops are also nearby. The terrace was also really nice, big and spacious. The airconditioning was also good.

PakistanThe washroom didn't have soap or shampoo, so I had to run out to get that - would have been a nice touch to have that. The stairs are narrow and steep and long - so just be prepared for that. I don't think the host can help that tho, and it is a very old building, so it is understandable. I'm simply mentioning it for anyone who needs to prepare. While the apartment does have a balcony, it faces inwards into an apartment courtyard where you can't see much - and I suppose I was hoping for something with a view. These are just some minor things tho - I would otherwise very much recommend the place for the location and historic nature of the building.
The apartment is located in the most central part of historic Florence and is close to most things by a short walk. The apartment is also spacious and equipped with a washing machine, kitchen, and lounge. The room was comfortable and the AC worked fine. The check in process was also great as a very sweet woman messaged me earlier and then arrived at the spot before I did with the keys and then explained everything about the apartment in detail despite not knowing English that well. I never met the host, but I needed to book a taxi for my flight and they responded fairly soon and had one booked for me - so I really appreciate that too. There was also a binder made by the host with recommendations for things, which is always very much appreciated. Overall, for the location, it is a lovely stay.

United KingdomProperty is located on a second floor and one needs to climb two rather long flight of steps with the luggage. Not suitable for anyone with medium to large sized suitcases or an older person or someone with mobility issues or little kids. There is mo elevator. The owners take payment only by cash or paypal rather than through a card machine and this was inconvenient.
Great location and excellent property for comfort and cleanliness.

CanadaThe main bed was fine for a night or two, but a bit uncomfortable. Not a negative for us, but the stairs are quite steep and narrow for heavy bags.
It was very spacious, with high ceilings and lots of room in the kitchen (which was well stocked). The location was terrific. The good location meant there was some street noise, so I used ear plugs to get to sleep. The kids loved this apartment, and their room with three single beds.

United StatesYou have to walk up two long flights of stairs. We didn't expect this, but we were fine. The advantage is that our apartment was very quiet even though there were a lot of people on the street.
The location was amazing, so close to Uffizi museum and Florence top sights. We had a large multi-room apartment for two of us (couple) - it was much larger than I expected. The bed and furnishings were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with plates and pans so we could cook a complete dinner. There was even tea and coffee and sugar. The terrace was nice as it was filled with plants (but there is no view).
