Bit tired. Needs an update. Did the job for one night though Had to order every breakfast item the night before cereal/ fruit/ drinks/ bread etc. Good to avoid waste, but I would have taken much smaller bits of everything from a buffet.

Very little wrong with the place to be honest. Slight smell from the bathroom but thats probably down to the ancient sewerage system in Castel Gandolfo. The whole village is very old with lots of history and charm. The other downfall is to get the lovely view from Castel Gandolfo then if you arrive by train then you have a short but steep trek up to the village. As soon as you reach the top and turn round you get the most amazing view that takes your breath away and you forget all about the brief challenging walk. If you call the reception in advance the will organise a taxi for you from the station at a reasonable price. Alternatively you can go to Albano Laziale station to the gates of Castel Gandolfo station by a small bus. However the timetable is quite infrequent.

Room we paid for was not a lake view however we were on a side street which still had a window that overlooked the lake and just next-door was a small communal terrace with table and chairs again overlooking the lake. Breakfast is ordered the night before as they cook fresh pastries each morning. They also do hot food however don't expect a full english which is very rare in Italy anyways. The pear (pera) juice is really nice. The hotel is like a small boutique hotel and has a small breakfast room. There is also an attached restaurant which wasn't really open when we were staying due to the season being nearly over. Also it was windy the couple of days we stayed so the roof terrace was not open which was a little shame. You are right on the door step of the charming village of Castel Gandolfo and can stroll the streets around the hotel until late before retiring to bed. The palace gardens were wonderful. The lake itself is breathtaking however as mentioned quite windy down by the lake in mid October. All in all a lovely stay and the team at the hotel were really accommodating and helpful. The maintenance guy was a star and saved our bacon when there ended up being a transport strike on our last day! Grazie Mille

Lack of, or poor WIFI in room. WIFI in every room was one of the points listed on the Booking.com description of the hotel.

It was a wonderful stop as we were traveling back to Rome to see what the town had to offer. The room was better than most and the staff was very friendly.

Our room faced the street and there was noise almist all night from outside. It was difficult to sleep.

Shower water pressure a bit disappointing.

Staff were lovely. Breakfast was great. Location perfect. Rooms basic but with the best balcony in town with a lovely view over the lake. Bed was remarkably comfortable. Walked some distance out of the town centre to take a look at the place we almost booked due to a higher rating. The place was far less convenient and not nearly as friendly. Glad we made the choice we did.

You cannot beat the views of the lake! It’s located so close to the papal palace and gardens and so many restaurants! It was incredibly peaceful and sitting on our little porch each afternoon and evening was fantastic! Breakfast is cooked to order and the staff is amazing and very accommodating. They were extremely helpful and spoke English.

Room was okay but there were some ants and some dirty spots on the blanket. Parking was pretty expensive and sometimes there were no spaces even though we paid for it.

Filippo was very friendly and helpful. He gave us good tips as well. The view from our room was super and breakfast was good. We enjoyed breakfast at the balcony. Very good location and parking was possible in front of the hotel.
