Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

There is a bus stop close to the hotel with direct links to Venice. The location was good. You can walk from the main station in about 25/30 minutes. Breakfast was served as small sweet snacks. The owners were helpful and cheerful. Quiet neighborhood.

For the price, it is a very nice hotel The bed is comfortable, the staff is very nice, and each room has a terrasse and a lot of small details to make your stay enjoyable (like an anti-mosquito plug, ear wax cleaner, etc.)

GermanyThere only one little drawback which is, that the hotel is situated in an industrial neigborhood, but at the end this didn't really influence our overall experience.
All in all, our stay in Ca' Nova was really good. The room and bathroom were very clean, the room was comfortable and had a very nice design. The host that we met in the mornings was really kind and offered us a delicious breakfast with traditional, probably selfmade venetian sweets and otherwise a great choice of savoury food. Even though the place is a bit outside of Venice centre, it's super easy to reach the island(s) via public transport. We warmly recommend this place :)

HungaryWe booked with breakfast, but it was cancelled as we arrived (and payed less). I did not understand why, but the restaurant was closed on Sunday, and opened monday afternoon? (we stayed from Saturday to Monday). We were sad, because we wanted to try the seafood praised by reviews. On Sunday we arrived back from Venice at night around 11PM, and there was no warm water. Very unpleasant after a long day, we were also at Lido, where even the facilities of free beach closed at 7PM (so no shower option after swimming)
We wanted good and payable accomodation in Venezia Mestre for visiting Venice. It is easy to access from train station with bus (information for you: buy the public transport tickets at the train station, because there is no option in Marghera for this). Staff was friendly, room was nice, with air conditioner and little refrigerator, bed was comfortable. We arrived a bit late, but I wrote in time, so the checkin was alright. Lidl and a cute cafe (Le Delizie di Dea) in 8-10mins of walking. Yes, it is in the industrial area, no problem for us, was quiet here.

DenmarkThe hotel overall felt a bit worn, and could use some upgrades. The ad on booking.com said that there was air conditioning and a tub, this was partially correct. There was no tub, and the air conditioning had a too small generator, which resulted in it basically just blowing warm air trough the room. This definitely sucked, since we were looking forward to cooling down after a hot day in Venice. I think we were the only guests at the hotel at that time, and we did feel like this resulted in a lesser service. The breakfast was definitely way smaller, with less options than in the pictures on booking.com and we were basically alone the entire time, it was even a struggle to find someone to check us out.
Very nice staff, especially the lady serving breakfast. She remembered that we liked to sit outside the first day, and that one of us was celiac, the next day she made sure the table was set for us, with gluten-free muffins as well. We arrived late, several hours past the checkin time, because of traffic. The staff accommodated this, and a friendly employee drove to check us in as we arrived, since the desk is not manned 24/7. We also got to park our motorbike safely in their private area, even though this is not normally were you park. (This was wrongfully depicted in the ad on booking.com though, but still nice) It was pretty easy to take the bus to Venice, took maybe 20 minutes.
