Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HondurasJust put some music in the breakfast room, sensitive people to people's noise when eating is disturbing when is a tiny closed place.
All was excellent. The apartment clean and shining, as new. Nice rustic mediterranean style. Parking lots available in every level of apartments.

United StatesThe only real problem we ran into was that the promised outdoor jacuzzi tub did not work and was not warm, and no one seemed to know how to make it work.
The view from this B&B in the middle of the Valley of the Temples is awesome! The location is perfect. The staff is quite friendly and anxious to please the guests. Our room was large and comfortable, with a wall air conditioner which we much appreciated, since it was surprisingly warm outside for early May. The grounds are beautiful, and the B&B is fairly hidden from view and therefore, free from any street noise. The gate-lock system (once it was explained to us) made us feel very safe and secluded.

AustraliaSuggested walking route through their property to the Valley of the Templeswas poorly explained (due to language difficulties ) and we got very lost, making us late for meeting our guide. Conventional road route would have been far better for us and only takes 15 minutes to walk.
Rooms were large and comfortable with a good breakfast. Really liked the staff..you can walk to the entrance of the Valley of the Temples.

United StatesThe only negatives about the room were how small the shower was and not being able to flush toilet paper. My wife used Apple Maps to navigate, entering just the name of the hotel and we kept driving around because it could not find it. It only worked when we put in the exact address.
The property and hosts were excellent, as was the breakfast.

AustraliaNothing, no downside.
Family-run places can be so much nicer than ones that are not, and the family - Pietro, Luigi and others are super helpful and welcoming. Food is brilliant, both the excellent breakfast spread of wonderful home cooked pastries and other choices, and the multi course dinner which was offered to us (I think all guests accepted) which was all of restaurant standard (better really, being home cooked) and pretty good value given it included all drinks. Location is walking distance to the temples, or a short drive (with abundant parking). Don’t miss the ancient olive trees on the property, one up to 1200 years old.

AustriaWe have rent an appartement for 4: with a bedroom and a sofa bed. The kitchen is equipped with the minimum tools: 4 plates, 4 glasses, 4 spoons, etc. No bottle of mineral water offered in the opposite of other much cheaper accommodation we have been ! We have not been informed that there is not enough parking place for every guests. Coming back from dîner at the restaurant, we had to park outside...No hot water, almost no water during the evening shower, apparently due to a problem...Only one hook in the bathroom and none in the rooms to hang up the wet towels...which was very annoying. As almost everywhere in Sicily, only a few sockets to plug in the electrical appliance. These are msybe just few details which could be easily improved and should be improved for the price you pay for the room.
The main advantage of this accommodation is the location, about 15 to 20 minutes walk from the Valley of the Temples, the beautiful garden and the view on the sea and the Temples. The accommodation is very quite, and safe. A peaceful place for relaxation. Plus it offers a jacuzzi with a view. The breakfast was quite good as well. The beds were quite ok. The appartement looks like the pictures on booking.com. An outdoor parking place is offered on site.

BelgiumLa Lumia is a restored farmhouse surrounded by an ancient garden of orange and olive trees. (Our stay was during spring, the scent of orange blossom we won’t easily forget.) The owners are attentive, and the decoration of the accommodation is both beautiful and authentic. Breakfast is delicious and varied, which is not always the case in Italy. The location is quiet and offers a beautiful view of the Temple Valley, making La Lumia a highly recommended place to stay.
