Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe property says that it has wifi, but this is very slow and only works if you go and sit in the reception area. This may be important for some people.
The location is a little odd in the middle of nowhere on the outskirts of Syracuse and you almost drive past it, especially at night. When you get to the end of the driveway, you are greeted by the amazing sight of what looks like a pretty little quaint village. The property consists of a collection of renovated buildings, and the fact that no two rooms look the same gives it a really charming feel. Breakfast is served on the terrace and is simply the best I have had at any hotel. Each morning you are lovingly presented with a different selection of homemade Sicilian savouries, fruit, pastries and cakes, and the homemade almond granita was divine. We had a family room that exceeded our expectation as it was much bigger than we thought, with two separate bedrooms plus a bathroom connected via our own entrance hall and a shared balcony overlooking the swimming pool. We had a great week exploring this fascinating part of Sicily, being very close to Syracuse and Ortigia and also some interesting and lovely beaches less than 30 minutes drive further south.

FranceCan't think of anything. I only give it a 9 instead of a 10 because nothing is perfect.
The nearly wholly homemade breakfast is one of the best we have ever tried anywhere, perhaps the best. The room is fine. Lovely lovely people. We enjoyed our stay very much. Hoefully we can return one day.

United KingdomWould’ve been nice to be able to eat an evening meal after a long drive. Overall, it was all lovely and very good value for money
Very tranquil location easily accessible from the main road and easy to find. Rooms very clean, but shower cubicle could do with being replaced as door was a bit unstable. Didn’t deter from the atmosphere of the old, quaint property. Lovely welcome from Reception and excellent explanation of breakfast products. Staff were exceptional and breakfast blew us away. By far the best breakfast we’ve ever had at a B&B! Compliments to the chef. The products were all homemade and extremely fresh. We ate in the garden which was beautifully tended. The pool was a welcome relief after a long day exploring in the heat. Sun loungers around the pool needed some attention, but that didn’t spoil things. Room was lovely and cool when we arrive. too tip….let the proprietor know your arrival time and you’ll find it perfectly cooled for you. Thank you Antica Gebbia.

MaltaSome constructive suggestions. The property is not signposted at all and even with GPS it was not easy to find in the dark. The path leading from the road to the property is in a very bad state and my car was not too happy with that. Some shade in the pool area would be nice especially during the hottest periods of the day. The pool furniture definitely needs an update. The loungers are very flimsy and risk causing injury. Also some sort of pool bar would be nice where one can buy a beer or an ice-cream while relaxing by the pool.
The location is absolutely wonderful. Absolute peace and quiet. Great breakfast. Large pool. But most of all it was Salvo who made our stay so pleasant. He is always ready to help and gives the term "Service with a smile" a new dimension. Only this time you know the smiles are genuine!! A great friendly character and very hard working. The property is a gem in itself. Excellent and comfortable parking.
