Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LatviaThe towel rail did not work, quite contrary, it was wet from coldness and the towels were damper in the morning. It was a cold night, and we wanted to turn on the heater, but it did not work either. But as we stayed just one night it was not a big problem.
Very comfortable, beautiful and spacious room. Large balcony, and beautiful pool where the lights change colours at night. Unfortunately it was too cold for swimming. Good breakfast. The place is accessible only by a car, but that was fine with us. Kind staff.

United KingdomWe were charged to change the towels. Whilst it said in the room that the towels would be changed after 2 days, the towel rail didn’t work and was dripping with condensation, so it was impossible to dry the towels after use.
Very friendly staff, clean rooms and building, good breakfast.

United KingdomNo complimentary water in the rooms, late check in 3.30. No staff at property or chance to buy any food or drink in property. Very noisy doors which echos around the hotel. But only small hotel so not too bad.
New and ok location if you have a car as 20 mins from ortiga island. Nice beach 8 mins drive away. It had a nice pool and very fresh new rooms. Lovely staff and owners. Large rooms.

CanadaWe were never able to access hot water for a shower. Servers seem unfamiliar with North American preferences, e.g. black tea is not Earl Grey and milk for tea was hard to communicate.
The facility appears to be new. Everything is fresh and clean. The pool is beautiful and inviting. All staff seem eager to please - even in English.

RomaniaI m not used to have conflicts or chat without sense but the beviour of the reception staff was beyond any limits: the check in start at 15.30 (quite late but this is the rule, so you have to accept it if you choose that location) I asked her to allowed me to change the clothes (we were comming from Etna and in Siracusa were 30 degrees) at 14.30 she looked to me between the gate closed and she sent me away, and suggested me to contact Booking management if I want to change my clothes:) You have to take into consideration that the location în 30' by car to Siracusa centre.... I come back after 16 in a "nice" sweated shape and I only suggested her to take into consideration the meaning of the word "empathy" she told me she will call the Police (???) because of I dared to point ouț something; she used also google translate to show me that... the rest of the Journey was a fiasco afterthat.... So, if you need a place to charge yourself with negative energy in a holiday - this is the perfect choice. also, maybe you prefer to exercise the hospitality of stiffness guardian of a jail:) In the all rest of our Sicily holiday, from Taormina to Siracusa, Corleone and Palermo, I met only warm, friendly and helpfull people (from the rent car to hotels, restaurants, etc), so it is pitty to get in that place instead of a hundred of other pleasent choices.
The opportunity to appreciate the rest of sicilians met versus the lady desk of Amada Hotel :)

ItalyBreakfast could be a bit more generous jn yoghurt and coffee quaiity. The main issue for us was that - due to an airline strike - we arrived one day before the weekend and had to work. The room - despite its nice terrace table - is too small and has one desk only. We pleaded repeatedly with the manager to use one little table of the breakfast room (there are no other adequate common spaces) to work (no calls only laptops) to no avail. She felt she had to place the sppons on the table after breakfast and it was too much work to do it twice even for one table. For us this was a major issue as we could not sit properly and our room was not done by room service as we had no other place to go. So I would not expect no flexibility whatsoever. Also there are no kettles in room.
The Amada Hotel is located between the suburb Belvedere of Syracuse and the heavy industry area I'of the city (oil refineries) in a "Garden Town". The oil refineries are close but out of sight and apparently do not affect the quality of the air. The "Garden Town" is filled with small villas with beautiful gardens although some villas are empty and some lots not developed. The sea is about 3 km away and not accessible. The hotel itself is optimised for Booking which makes it a convenient , if a bit kmpersonal, stop for travellers. It is very new, with a well kept yard and pleasant swimming pool. Common areas are in nice colors, with modern furniture and plenty of orchids and light. Home made cookies provide a nice welcome. Use o some wood for decoration adds warmth. Rooms are spacious, very clean with wood like floors which are ideal to keep clean. The facilities are large and comfortable. Breakfast includes home made Crostata cakes which are delicious. The receptionist is very kind and helpful. While price was not great, it is a very good choice for driving travellers who wish clean and pleasant accommodation for a few nights. WiFi is fine.

United KingdomBreakfast was very limited, and I felt like we were only allowed a certain quota of each item - the staff insisted on serving you even a glass of water! Would've liked to see more selection & more pick-your-own buffet. Location was a bit of a shock, it's really remote with no nearby shops or restaurants. As the hotel has no restaurant or bar (a big negative), we had to drive to the town for something to eat - which was a good 20 mins by car. Overall, this probably was the biggest negative for us in our stay.
The family who run the hotel are great - really friendly & helpful. The hotel itself has a lovely clean, modern feel. The pool was amazing - best feature of the hotel.
