Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe B&B is located in a historical building, and the ceiling is about 5 meters high. The room was comfortable and quiet. Although the room decoration is kept in an old-fashioned style, it suited me well, as it was the only B&B where I could use my UK-Europe adapter among the three B&Bs in Sicily. The host, Maria, is a very kind person. Thank you!

UzbekistanI didn’t like the area itself. If you are staying close to the central station, bear in mind that u may feel unsafe while walking in the street. For solo travellers the area is a bit scary, but the flat is great. And the place does not have a kitchen facilities for guests.
The flat and cleanliness are great. As well as helpful hosts. It is an unusual hotel with old style (vintage) design.

United KingdomThe room was a little noisy, you could hear the door and buzzer everytime someone came in. The shower was a little cramped. I also found the mattress a bit soft - but you cant please everyone on this.
Easy to find. Traditional old italian building, with old cage style lift to get you up to the 5th floor. Really nice sized room, high ceilings and traditional tiles. Clean. Complete black out windows (helps me sleep). Useful furniture. Staff were friendly (but didn't speak much english). Good location next to the train station, a short walk to the Via Maqueda (main street with all the restaurants and shops and tourist stuff) as well as the Ballaro market.

Lots of great restaurants near by. We had a rental car and we were shocked to find a parking space for free right in front. ItalyWhile the location is perfect for getting in and out of the city (airport bus or train) and on the fringe of the more interesting Kalsa neighbourhood, it's the stepping out into the surrounding streets that are littered with rubbish that put a damper on the stay, sad really and if those lounging around on their mobile phones took some civic responsibility it would be a good area to be in.
An experiment. Not since my youth had I stayed in a 1 Star hotel but this particular weekend in Palermo accommodation was scarce in the Kalsa neighbourhood and I thought why not, an adventure. It is very much a trip back to nostalgia, when the 'pensione' was always a great option. Family run it's exactly that, and I have to say star ratings these days mean practically nothing, in Firenze, Rome, Venezia or Milan this would be a 3 Star. Meticulously clean and quaint walking past the family quarters and seeing Nonna in the kitchen watching TV. I had a room with ensuite and view over the city to the sea, nothing to complain about. The building well kept with a wonderful cage lift up through a grand spiral stair to the top floor.

Hungary-
Enjoyed our one night stay in a spacious, very clean, nicely furnished room. Loved the breakfast (served in the room), we chose pistachio croissants from other sweet options - they were warm, delicious and huge :) If you crave something salty & substantial for breakfast, you can get any type of grilled street/sea food, sandwiches at the famous Ballaro market 5 min. from the hotel. The owners were kind and let us leave our big luggage for a couple of hours even after checking out, so we could explore the city freely during the day.

ColombiaAs many hostels near central stations the area looks a little gloomy . We knew that, but on top of that, there are few places to hang out in the area.
They serve a delicious breakfast in your room. Very good service . Nice hot water shower. Very clean. TV with netflix. Close to train central station. Best quiality /price ratio.

CroatiaBathroom is very small and you have to throw a toilet paper to the bin. Probably has something to do with the pipes cause the building is old. There wasn't hairdryer in the room.
Location is great. Very close to railway and bus station and in walking distance to the historic center (15 min). The room is clean. Bed is comfortable and it's quiet. Excellent soundproofing. The staff is kind and helpful. I liked the balcony.

Good location - 5 min walk to the train station. A small hotel located on the top floor of the building. Very helpful staff, you feel like a part of the family. Nice breakfast with fresh croissants filled with homemade ricotta cream. Price - you can't beat.
