Everything. All attention to detail was given from free tea and coffee on arrival to the waitress service you have with your breakfast. The breakfast is wonderful really beautiful top quality produce. Would recommend this hotel 100%

The lodge is at the absolute height of what can be expected of 3 star accommodation. Great location, caring staff, immaculate, with character and hidden charm - For the price paid, people really cannot expect any more. Overall, we think this is amongst the best value 3 star hotel we have experienced and we would stay again. If we could make any comment at all, it’d be that Wheatlands Lodge should retain the family feel and avoid commercial trends. Thank you for a very satisfying stay, you’ve all been super!

Nothing it was just a great hotel

Easy to find combined with being close to centre of York (around 10min walk ) Parked car up and didn't use it again till we left All the main attractions are easily found, the railway museum is so close, york minster, Castle, the shambles not forgetting Bettys tea rooms all so easy to find. Staff were so helpful and so friendly Breakfast is amazing, (Caroline was so helpful pleasant and attentive ) The room was clean and well presented we were on the top floor and the veiw was brilliant The bar is easy to find for a late night drink and well stocked. Can't recommend enough, You are greeted with a smile and left with a warmth knowing you will return

Love the old fashioned family run feel of the place, very charming reception and bar. Lovely outside area on a sunny day. Large room, just what we needed and part of the charm. Excellent breakfast. Ideal location to walk into York, parking spaces available. Good value for money, we would stay again and recommend to friends

A little far from the old town, about a 10-15 minutes walk, but not necessarily a bad thing, since it's a more quiet neighbourhood.

Breakfast was really good, staff was very friendly. Beautiful ambience, very cozy. Bedroom was big and beds comfortable.

The only thing that was a pain was trying to get it the room with the wheelchair due to the positioning of the door and stairs. But really, that was more to do with the size of the wheelchair than the hotels fault. It is a really big bulky wheelchair.

I was travelling with my daughter who is a wheelchair user and has a portable hoist. When I arrived later than was expected, I was delighted to see a member of staff come and help me with all my luggage. My room was on the ground floor to accommodate the wheelchair and was a lovely spacious room. The beds had been positioned in a way I'd said earlier that would make my stay easier.

One slight was at breakfast. We were kept waiting a considerable time. Other guest's were coming in after us, and then getting looked after before us. I thought I had done something to upset someone.

We stay at Wheatlands lodge all the time. It's a lovely place. Quality rooms. Lovely staff, and on top of that a great breakfast.

A bit noisy in room 66 as children hang out outside the window in the morning. The road is a bit noisy too. Bed was hard. There is only 5 parking spaces but room down the road.

Brilliant breakfast and staff very friendly. Easy to walk into town. Nice and clean. Cheapest place in the area to stay and easy to drive to.

Room 4 bathroom the radiator would not switch off so room was warm. We opened the window to compensate.

Breakfast, an important meal of the day was all served to you, no queue for cereals or fruit juice, so no waste as what you wanted was delivered to your table and very quickly. Nothing too much trouble

The whole experience - food, staff, cleanliness etc. - at Wheatlands Lodge was excellent, very enjoyable. I couldn’t fault any aspect. I was very lucky though that I could park my car for my whole three day stay in the road immediately outside the hotel entrance - I could understand previous reviews commenting on their parking difficulties! A very well looked after hotel (and front garden!), and very convenient for access (for two 80+ year olds) to the town centre.
