Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe rooms are large and spacious but I didn't feel they were very clean ... didn't want to sit on any furniture or put bags on the floor. The bathroom looked recently renovated (but not the floor tiles! Still stained and dirty from years of use!) so was clean but towels were just two small hand towel size (two adults staying and the room had two large double beds). Also, no surfaces to place any of your toiletries in the bathroom. The view was ... interesting ... of broken car park, containers and rubbish and random bits of old furniture. This also says it's a car park for Gatwick you can pay to leave your car yet, there was very little parking available and I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving vehicle here. THE POT HOLES! I read the reviews but it was worse than I imagined!! Staff explained that they don't own the access road but my goodness, it was horrific!! The hotel has no curb appeal, you approach from the rear and it looked derelict, sadly all I could see was what looked like someone who lived there with their window propped open with a shoe and a rubbish bag clearly fallen out of that window with their telly on blasting a show out the open window and an ironing board set up in plain view - you have to walk past this to get to reception! In reception, I could see through to communal area and all I could see was a pair of bare feet propped up on the coffee table!
This is what it says on the tin ... a cheap place to stay if you have to get to Gatwick for an early flight! I didn't expect much and wasn't disappointed. However, the greeting at reception and the help provided was excellent - lovely welcome. Recommended where we could get a dinner and that was helpful. The room was large and spacious and had everything you need for a stay - desk, television, wardrobe, etc.

AustraliaIt seems like it's handy to Gatwick airport but unless you have your own car it's not easy to get to/from Gatwick. An uber from the airport was £30 and a taxi from the hotel back to Gatwick was £28. So whilst the hotel was cheap it wasn't convenient. The hotel is very remote and a bit spooky. The bed was really uncomforable, shower pressure was bad and the fire alarm in our room went off twice at 3am.
Staff were really friendly and helpful and the room was very large (think we had a disabiliy-friendly room so everything was very spacious)

United KingdomThe shower cubicle was not draining well, and i had to have a wash instead of a shower, and the bathroom would do with deep cleaning.
It was convenient for us as we wanted a place to sleep after a day with family.

United KingdomIt wasn't the cleanest, there were bugs over the beds. (Not bed bugs, maybe due to being near fields)
The property is close to Gatwick airport and very cheap in comparison to near by airports. Reception staff were helpful and knew we were coming late and leaving very early and were happy to accommodate this.

United KingdomThe first room we were given smelled of damp and mould. When I looked up I saw why. The ceiling has obviously been leaking and there was damp all over the ceiling and water stains and damp must on the sofa underneath. The walls are super think and could hear a crying baby all night like it was next to me. The second room we were given was cleaner but the bed side lamps had sawn off and removed and there were loose wires covered in duct tape exposed around the headboard. The shower seal was black and mouldy and the tap on the sink was so stiff it was difficult to use. The road leading the hotel is pot hole hell. No more than 4mph or you’ll damage your car. The hotel knows this is a problem though and even has a sign up in reception for pot hole damage claims.
Friendly staff and no issues sorting out our issues.

United KingdomThe pot holes to the property have buggered up suspension as they are deep and full of water. I suspect it has damaged the suspension mount or arm. I will have to have this looked at. The carpet in the hotel look dated and thin in places. In the room the walls were painted white, however they were grubby...and their were bare feet dirty marks on the walls in the room. The bed under the window had silver fish on it in abundance, indicating long term dampness and the room felt cold and damp. The windows, were disgusting and covered in algae and mould so couldn't see out of them, and they let a breeze in. We paid for the breakfast, which as stated would be a cold breakfast, but... the Apples in the fruit bowl were frozen and must if been taken out the freezer 10 mins before we got in there. There was no one in the dining room, but there were no croissants as advertised or yoghurt. The bread was cheap 1/4 thick slices, with marg portion and strawberry jam as a choice. The cupboards and side board doors were hanging off. So all we had was a portion of cereals, and a glass of value orange juice. Definetly not worth the price we all paid for this...we could of bought milk and cereals with us for 99% less price and kept in the room fridge. The bed would of been better off without mattresses as they were probably well over 20 years old and all you could feel was the bed frame and the springs!!
There was a bed linen looked clean , the microwave, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, fan, fridge, towels, hotel shower gel and a small selection of hot drinks available in the room. Room was spacious and lighting was adequate. The bathroom was clean.

United KingdomLane leading to the hotel was full of huge potholes and partially flooded. There was no restaurant which meant we had to risk driving down the lane more than I would have liked. I was worried about getting stranded and missing our early morning flight at Gatwick which was the purpose of our stay so didn't sleep well. Think I got off lightly with just a puncture that I had to get repaired when we got home. There was a notice in the reception for how to claim for any damages from the local council which suggests its not the hotels responsibility, but still... Room itself was clean but some of the floorboards under the carpet were loose. The bathroom door got jammed and I was trapped in there for a few minutes which caused a slight panic. Never again.
the single member of staff we saw was pleasant and helpful
