Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI was a wee bit unsure getting the hot water on but managed to get the boiler to heat up.
View from windows onto the Holy Isle amazing. My inlaws loved the flat as there to celebrate a special birthday. Nice Central location. We were fortunate to visit during the lovely weather.

United KingdomThe second bedroom was very small and the pillows weren't the most comfortable. It was a lovely cosy room, but there just wasn't enough space for two people sharing.
The theme of the apartment was really cool and we loved having a real fire in the evenings. The location was fantastic and the apartment was really comfy.

GermanyNothing.
Beautiful flat in a great location. Nicely decorated, super views and everything you could need in a flat for a few relaxing days. Wood burner in living room made it super cosy.

United KingdomWe really enjoyed our stay, the communication with Ari was great. The location is amazing, with a perfect view of the Holy Isle. There's a very good Co-op store a couple of doors along and you park right outside the property. The flat is well equipped and has everything you'll need. Go and enjoy! :)

United KingdomThere was a nespresso pod machine, but it would have been nice to have a cafetiere or other way to make coffee as 2 of our party only drink decaff. Minor point though! One of the rooms was pretty small, but we managed fine.
Very cosy and we'll decorated, we loved the Wes Anderson theme, kept us entertained in the evenings! Communication was great and we loved the location. Coop next door was very handy.

United KingdomThe entrance to the flat was tacky and definitely needed a wee paint and cleaned up. We were all worried about the appearance of the place until we arrived upstairs.
The wee flat was just perfect.

United KingdomThere want anything we didn't like about our stay.
We absolutely loved the fun of the Wes Anderson theme and careful attention to detail (between kitchen equipment and things to get you started, entertainment, the information folder, plenty towels, a small freezer, pillows and overall comfort). The apartment is also next to a supermarket and has the shore on its doorstep. Parking was not an issue although car charging wasn't quite as straightforward. It was an idyllic and a relaxing bolthole for our stay. We were also very reassured with a point of contact should we have needed it but everything was thought of.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike. We noted one or two minor items to consider adding in the kitchen, but overall the apartment was an excellent choice.
I loved the careful details of the interior and the somewhat quirky features. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The location was perfect, and the view over to Holy Isle an added bonus.

United KingdomHonestly, nothing at all - it is perfect :)
As soon as we opened the door to this beautiful flat, we were over the moon! It is stunning!!!! The decor is gorgeous! it is so cosy and quirky. I don't want spoil it for anyone but there are so many added little surprises and the theme is carried throughout. There is nothing that the host has not thought of, everything is so clean and fresh. The view is just amazing, had a wee happy tear in my eye at the early morning view. We ate at the Lamlash Bay Hotel, just 2 mins walk from the flat, dog friendly and the pizza was delish! We took a tour around the island by car on our first full day and it was stunning! We were lucky enough to see a wild stag, herons and 11 Seals all posing together on the beach (we seen them at Machrie). On our second day we went for brunch at the Little rock on Brodick front, the food was amazing and again dog friendly). I had my fingers crossed that the ferry would be cancelled on the way home but sadly we had to leave and return home - We will be back soon! xx

United KingdomThe flat was quite cold, someone had left a window open and it took a while to get the place warmed up again. We struggled to find the place when we arrived.
The flat is located in Lamlash itself with beautiful views. The hosts are lovely and the bedrooms have a great layout.
