I thought it was a best Western Hotel when booked. It had been sold to new owners so was having some work done. Also windows on outside of room in need of cleaning as well as some others around the property.

Location was key and nice room.

There could have been nuts/seeds to go with oats and yoghurts at breakfast. Some aspects of the hotel were a little outdated but you could see further renovations are under way.

Pool, gym, Sauna. Dog friendly. Helpful professional staff. Breakfast was perfect, lots of continental choices and first morning additional hot food was cooked to order, the second morning, served from a buffet cart, it was hot and well presented. Very attentive staff who answered all our questions, met our needs as a family with a dog. Lots of wildlife in the well kept gardens, even a hare sauntering around the car park!

bed is not that comfortable. Shampoo wasn't supplied properly for 3 nights. I have to keep going to reception to ask for more. In my last night i was given tresemme shampoo.

Newer tv with more channels and a fridge with water would have been nice

Lovely staff at the hotel especially the service for breakfast. A lovely lady with a nice sense of humour served us which brightened up our day

We were in a group of 14 and the chap on the bar seemed quite put out when we ordered a round of drinks…

Excellent value for money with spacious and clean rooms. Facilities are good, with a pool and gym all included in the price. Bar was open until about 10:30pm and the food was pleasant enough.

Getting an e-mail when I returned home to say one of the rooms had not been paid for when it had been paid to booking.com when the booking was made. and had to telephone the hotel to get it sorted out.

The room was lovely, spacious and comfortable. Staff were very friendly, the garden was lovely. Plenty of places nearby to visit, lots of walks locally. Will go again.

No real downside.

Spacious room with en-suite both of which were well appointed and the room included a fridge. The location and outlook offered good relaxation with easy and quick access to the Lake District. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was buffet with a great choice. In all a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

Received e-mail when back at home saying one of the rooms had not been paid for but payment had been taken by booking.com when the room was booked so had to phone hotel and explain details of payments etc. Nothing was mentioned at check in.

Some road noise but not too bad. Menu choice was limited for non-meat eaters. Extractor fan didn't work in the bathroom.

The room was pleasant and a good size. Beds comfy. The chap serving in the restaurant/bar was very helpful and accommodating as we hadn't booked a table. We got the impression from the website that bar food was available, but it is definitely a sit-down restaurant! The breakfast room was well stocked, and the cooked option was hot and tasty. Perfect for a one night stop over before we reached our rented accommodation for the week. Would use the hotel again.

The hotel itself was a bit dated but was satisfactory! The sealant around the jacuzzi was badly mouldy the steamroom had questionable stains all over it!

Staff was polite and friendly, and rooms were cleaned to a good standard!
