The staff occasionally came across as disinterested however they were not rude. The property itself was tired in places but again suited our needs and was not unclean.

Large room, option for both a shower or bath which was welcomed after long days walking. Restaurant on site which had quick service, however the menu was fairly limited. Good value for money all round and would stay again.

Nothing really, the whole place had a good vibe, and it’s my view it was down to all the staff, from reception, housekeeping, leisure facilities and the restaurant, they all deserved a mention, they gave me the feeling ‘we want you back’ and yes I’ll be back for sure!

Service by Liz at breakfast was very warm and welcoming, as a sole traveller the start of the day makes a real difference, my poached egg’s were perfect too. I had dinner on my first night, I was happy with my meal and I could feel the staff wanted me to enjoy my evening meal, but as a sole traveller sitting in a bar area wasn’t for me, I would of preferred a more formal dining experience, this is not a criticism of the staff they tried their best!

Nothing to stop us going back! The dog fee, whilst normal to expect, was quite considerable. We usually pay £10-15 extra but here £30 per dog per night. Yet housekeeping don't clean the room every day so that was a bit steep we felt. Maybe dog owners have been abusing the hotel facilities in order to trigger such a high charge. However we would be prepared for future reservations.

Lovely hotel in a fabulous area. Comfortable room, fabulous facilities. We liked the decor and the layout. We liked the bar and the breakfast areas. Incredibly dog friendly with specific areas to breakfast if you had a dog with you. However plenty of dog free zones for those that don't!

Bike storage on hotel info but was actually just a bike rack outside reception. No good for our expensive bikes. This should be changed in the hotel description or secure storage provided. Luckily, we were able to keep them in the room.

The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Great choice of cooked breakfast in addition to cerials, fruit, croissants, toast, etc, and unlimited tea and coffee all served by the lovely Elizabeth. Staff even lent us a bucket (to wash our bikes) and plates to eat our own snacks in the room. The gym and pool were an added bonus and better than expected. The room was lovely. Large and clean and included a fridge, plenty of storage, and a seating area with a table. There were some signs of wear and tear in the room as you would expect but not detrimental to use. The decor has had negative reviews. No, it isn't a sleek modern hotel - this can be found at more than twice the price elsewhere in the lakes. It is a little dated, but this is in keeping with the lovely rural surroundings that you come to the lakes for. We'll be back next year!

Enjoyed are over night stay at this hotel was great valve for money. Room was a upgrade and very nice and warm, both of us went in the private pool which great and so was the evening meal and the breakfast we have just booked again for February.

The water came on and was ok for about a minute but then it kept pulsing like there was a broken pump. Forgot to mention that to reception.

The location was great. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were all brilliant. Breakfast was nice and lots of choice. Great for us and our dog.

Well, one of the reasons I booked this hotel was wifi. However, in our room, it was nonexistent. Reported first night hoping to have for the second night. However, nothing was done. So, emails I had to do i had to go up near reception. Disappointing. Breakfast was ok disappointing if i had paid the 16 pound qouted. Disappointing.

nothing, it was a nice little respite trip away from society

pool, suana, steam room usage. breakfast was okay, owuldve liked more cooked options but it was satifactory dinner was in the restaurent and was very nice. only a small menu but enough options for a nice weekend away.
