How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Location, location excellent for getting about central London. Nice and quiet rooms. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Buffet breakfast was good and the bar a nice area for drinks.

I see now they have raised their prices so sadly am staying elsewhere for my next visit to London

Entrance was not at street level. Taking the lift up and down with the wheelchair was cumbersome as staff was needed to assist.
Great location. Comfortable rooms. Living room with coffee on ground floor was a nice touch.

My only concern is that the business room is used as a recreational room, it is very difficult to work in peace and quiet as there is a never ending stream of people making tale away coffees and have no respect for people doing business form there

They only clean your room every other day unless you request it.
Staff were wonderful. Salman let us check in very early for no charge and upgraded our room!

The room was small and a bit dated, but I think this might be because of the location. The staff at breakfast seemed a bit disorganized but still friendly.
The location is excellent! The business lounge is comfortable and we had ample choice for spaces to work.

The toilet flush was not very strong. The toilet filled up regularly and threatened to overflow. It meant that with 3 of us in the room we had to wait for long periods of time between toilet flushes.
Loved that the rooms had a little kitchenette. Great for preparing your own breakfast if you are on a budget. There is also filtered water with refillable bottles provided. This was brilliant.

Prices of hotels are high in London. One only expects that but it´s still expensive when you are paying from own money.
Location very good in the middle of central London! Very helpful staff when i lost my mobile phone in a taxi. Charming bar girl!

Great location, walking distance to many areas of interest. Exceptional Staff. The room was large, very clean, with a very comfortable bed. There are two restaurants on the property, one is a pizzeria with excellent food.

Covers on the silver service used during breakfast were prone to slamming. In my review directly to the Grand they appreciated this observation and that they intend to address it. Much appreciated.
The front desk staff was very helpful and took care of us very well. Extremely comfortable king size bed that we always looked forward to after a long day.

Great location for all the big sites. Very easy to get to via the tube. Great pizza restaurant attached to the hotel. Expensive breakfast but expected at a London hotel. Would stay again.

Nice hotel in an exceptional location. Can walk to all major attractions in central London and close to subway to easily get around. Arrived early on flight from USA. Hotel had room to freshen up until our room was ready' which was nice.

All was good
The hotel is lovely but the staff is even more lovely..down to every single person I encountered! The bedroom itself is a little bland , but beds are comfortable, linens are nice quality and the room was very quiet...which we love. The Lobby, breakfast room and exterior are beautiful and the breakfast is excellent. Thank you evevyone, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Could have used some sitting areas in the lobby while waiting for family to come downstairs, the lounge could have been open a little later at night.
