How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

£100 for a night for one person and you still need to pay extra for the carpark. All this in Stoke-on-Trent.
It is a nice, basic hotel, too expensive for what it is.

The staff were fantastic from the minute we arrived and couldn’t have been more helpful. The room was perfect for our family. Very clean! And the location was perfect for our visit to Alton Towers. I would love to give a special mention to the lady who checked us in and the ladies at breakfast the next morning were lovely. Unfortunately I didn’t get any of their names!

Only 4 plug sockets and none next to the bed. Would have been nice to charge all devices and do so without having to leave them on the floor.
Very comfortable, decent size for a couple of nights. Decent sized bathroom and all amenities needed. Location was perfect for easy access to the A Road, but no issue with traffic noise at night.

Beds weren't very comfortable. A memory foam mattress would have been better.

Nothing I didn't like just could have been better if drink prices in the hotel weren't so expensive.

Fresh orange at breakfast tasted really awful . Had to pay to park my car on the hotel grounds!
Breakfast was included in the price .. Staff were friendly . Not far away from Alton Towers .

There's a car parking machine as soon as you walk through the door. It stated £5 for 24hrs parking but when we arrived around 7pm and said we wanted to leave at 9am, it went up to £7. For a pint of Amstel and Old Mout Cider, it was £12. Maybe standard alcohol prices that we are no longer aware of due to not being much of drinkers but still found it shocking. Whilst having that drink, two different groups arrived for check in. One group were told they'd get discounted car parking if paying via reception, the other group got told they had free parking - so I'd advise you absolutely don't use the machine because reception is either cheaper or free.
Very clean, breakfast was good and staff were friendly. Very comfortable beds and in a good location. All areas of the hotel are immaculate. Good location for Alton Towers, it's about a 25-30 minute drive away.

Room was quite warm even with A/C full blast and although it was clean it could have been very slightly cleaner
Really good value for money, staff were lovely, 30 mins from Alton Towers so really convenient for us. Breakfast was so good for the money too!

We were in a room near the start of the corridor so it was noisy when we wanted an early night but just an unfortunate placing

The beds were very uncomfortable didnt sleep well. Daughter said she could feel springs in her back from the pull out bed.

Staff were really great. We had travelled with a teething toddler staff helped us by getting a travel cot all made up ready and made breakfast so easy thank you. Staff really went above and beyond thank you. Food was lovely. Night staff really kind and staff on breakfast so helpful. Will stay again when in the area next time thanks
