It's very centrally located and good value for money for especially how close to the old town you're staying. The check in was smooth and staff helpful.

The vending machine only lets you purchase one thing at once, if you do more than 1 then it only charges you for the first item you selected and you have to do it again to get the second item

Superb location, but the twin room was a big no no

We booked a twin room, but we get a room with two level bed and no wardrobe or closet in the room. Bathroom was really nice, though so at least this is something we were pleased with. Overall the room was not what was promoted and didn't match the pictures when we did our reservation so it was misleading.

The greatest about the hostel is its location in the heart of the centre with clubs and pubs around. The hostel bar 50 is also good along with the different nights and prices in the lobby. I recommend the quiz night it was great fun :)

Your stay depends on the "neighbors" - we were woken up at 3am because some group of 20-somethings decided the hallway could be a pub. They were very loud, banging with the doors, obviously drunk...

Great location and communication with the staff before arrival, room was comfortable, clean and spacious for the 2 of us, good breakfast options.

Great location for an affordable price. The staff are helpful and let us store the suitcase. We got to use the kitchen. Edinburgh is a hill city so beware of your own travel.

Despite having stayed numerous times still have to show my passport, which has expired, and to be told I have to renew - when I can’t afford it! It’s a little frustrating

Good central location, not too busy, know my way round, comfortable enough bed and room not too warm.

Mattress was a little uncomfortable and having to put on pillow cases and duvet cover ourselves was a little inconvenient.

Enjoyed a nice stay in great location. Plenty of facilities that were regularly cleaned. Helpful staff in both the bar and at reception that were available 24 hours.

There was a chewing gum on top of one bed. Although it is a hostel a party went on in the bar until 2am, which does not follow the rules.

Great location and value for money (considering it is a hostel). Dog friendly!

First off, no TV in my room. I'm aware that it's a hostel but any others that I've stayed in previously have had one. The shower which as previously mentioned did have good pressure, was like some kind of water torture, going from tepid to freezing all the time. The window although tiny, need an upgrade, expected noise outside on a Saturday night but it sounded as if it was in my room beside me. Upon leaving the amount of people congregating in the foyer when trying to use the cash machine was intimidating. The bed was really uncomfortable and the room was cold. There was also no socket next to the mirror. Finally, the price for one night (£151) was absolutely ludicrous.

The location was ideal for attending gigs at Bannermans. It also had a cash machine on site which was handy for grabbing some money before I set off on my next trip. There's a handy wee button at reception for booking taxis which arrived quite promptly. The staff on reception were lovely and informative. Any time I messaged the hostel leading up to my stay, they got back to me in good time and provided me with all the information I requested. The shower in the room had a good water pressure and I had a nice wee table and stools in there too.

Soft mattresses on the bunk beds to be aware of, not a bad thing for a short stay.

Super close to the old town in Edinburgh, easy walking distance to most attractions. Helpful staff. Basic bunk beds in the private room, but didn't mind this as it was good value.

    - The room was clean but the bed was quite uncomfy and springy. - The cooked breakfast was cold but tasted fine.

    - The location was exceptional. Just over a 5 minute walk to Waverley Station and just off the beaten track of the Royal Mile. - The staff were great. Woman at reception (didn’t catch her name) was really helpful and accommodating and went the extra mile to help us with bus routes. - The bar. Good vibe, really busy. Doesn’t overly affect noise coming into rooms so no issue there either. We had a wee one with us so didn’t get full enjoyment but young people, big groups and couples travelling without kids would enjoy. - Clean room
