Overall the stay was really good, but there are a couple of things that need some improvement. Definitely the mattresses need renewal, specially since the type of tourism in Edinburgh is to walk around the city to explore, so when we get to the hostel a good night of sleep is needed. Also reinforcing the windows would be great, since the rooms are above the bar, and we can hear the loud music and people partying downstairs. Everyone has their right to party, so reinforcing the windows to try and muffle the sound would be great. But again, the stay was great, this is just an improvement suggestion 👌

The location is incredible, near almost all of the landmarks in the city, has supermarkets, restaurants and close to the train and tram as well. The staff at the reception are very friendly and helpful, breakfast is not incredible but it has several options and the refills are done very often. Perfect place for a short stay no question.

Beds were very uncomfortable, did not sleep well at all. Unfortunately our room was overlooking the beer garden so quite noisy at night ( only cos I had a child with me) even on 5th floor was quite noisy throughout the night.

Staff very nice, helpful and friendly. Room was very clean. Nice atmosphere in general. Lively bar and food available onsite.

The room was too small. To get out of bed I literally had to shimmy past the bottom of my single bed and then my mums single bed. But both beds were that close together it May was well have been a double! Breakfast choice was poor

The shower was super tiny, if you are of size be prepared to climb in sideways and have your bits touch the screen door as you enter 😲 The reception staff were amazing, but the kitchen staff were very closed. The rooms were hot and stuffy but not horrible.

Typical hostel accommodation... Breakfast was passable but nothing to rave about.

I asked for a twin room but was given a double room so had to separate the two beds to turn it into a twin room as wasn't travelling with a partner. Not a big deal but if I book a twin room, I'd like to get a twin room. The light in the bathroom is motion-triggered and while showering it clearly doesn't register movement so it goes off. Showering in the darkness wasn't a big deal again but may not be to everyone's liking :D.

Great location, clean room and bathroom. Storage room as well as secure lockers were super useful and not expensive. The tea and coffee machine by the reception was appreciated too. Good value for money considering it's right off Royal Mile really. Would book again.

No light above the mirror, which was located in a small corner, so it was really dark, not really the point of a mirror! The coffee machine at breakfast wasn't working the first morning, but it was fixed the next day.

Very good location and friendly staff, especially at reception :) Everything was extremely clean! Good breakfast. Noise wasn't as bad as expected, the hostel is in Edinburgh centre so obviously there was some noise from the streets, but inside it was very quiet :)

Would have been nice to have cups and kettle in the room for people who are staying for more than 3 days. It is chilly and cold so we could really use some hot tea before bed. Our room is above the outdoor pub and it was noisy every night. There were a few people checking in before us and I didn't like that the staff at the check-in counter was announcing each room number and bed for each person and the exact date that they are checking out and what time too. When it was our turn, he went on as well to mention what room we are in and when we are checking out. I felt a little unsafe that everyone can now know what room I am in and when I will be leaving the hotel.

The location of the hotel is centralised (very convenient) and we can go on foot to most of the tourist attraction and town area. There is a food street with plenty of choices behind the hotel and very good cafes just opposite the hotel too! The hotel room has everything yet nothing; there is shower foam and shampoo, hair dryer and plenty of switch for charging but no kettle nor cups. The bed is ok and good enough to sleep but I wouldnt say comfortable. Note that this is a hostel so its quite noisy with people walking loudly outside the corridor even during odd hours. The outdoor area of the pub can be a little loud too. There is a nice pantry area with vending machine for snacks and even coffee.

Clean and comfortable. The curtains round the bed were an excellent touch. I shared with only two other thoughtful guests in an 8 bed dorm which was great. I guess if you shared with 7 rowdy guests it could be a different experience!! The on site bar was slightly noisy but it seemed to finish at a reasonable hour. Altogether good value for a night in Edinburgh.
