The bed/s. We asked for a double bed and were given 2 singles pushed together, with a very obvious and uncomfortable join. The mattresses were very hard and we could feel the springs - very uncomfortable! Outwith the hotels control but a local church clock chimes every 15mins - day and night so that was another disruption to our sleep.

The staff & management went above and beyond to help us with everything that we requested or asked for. Nothing was too much for them! 10/10 The location was beautiful. Right next to the water & a bus stop for access to helensburgh etc. Breakfast was good value for money, great selection and unlimited tea and coffee served to your table.

Hotel gardens are quite run down and need some attention going into spring/summer, the rooms are clean but basic & our toilet didn't flush properly, there is a bit of a knack to it. It's an old building, and as you'd expect very creaky at night. I also found the bed quite small and uncomfortable. Our room overlooked the carpark and as it was warm ( no air con ) we needed the window open. It was very noisy both nights with people coming and going & this did upset our dog who was otherwise very chilled. Key cards kept getting de-magnetised and we had to have them reset a few times annoyingly. Food in the bar area was pretty basic pub grub, our breakfasts were nice but served with wrong items/items missing on both occasions. Had to chase tea/milk etc. with waitresses, perhaps more staff needed for busy breakfasts.

The location was perfect just on the beach, with a pub just 2 mins walk away and another 10 mins. Close to nearby Luss and Balloch, and only a short drive from Glasgow city centre. Good sized car park and reception staff were friendly. Dog friendly. Lots of plug sockets in room which was very handy.

Due to the weather, spent most of the time in the room, however with no working TV it was not ideal. Had to ask for towels and bottle of tap water.

Liked the staff, very pleasant and helpful. The weather was a disappointment but I'm used to that. The dinner was really nice.

Staff were really helpful, especially reception who pointed out that I'd paid for the room twice. Breakfast was probably one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had.

I first arrived and my tv wasn’t working or the other plug sockets, carpet was very stained and furniture tired looking room had a sea view but couldn’t see it for trees so I was thankfully upgraded to a much better room. The food was average and a bit of a wait.

I loved the gardens and the bridal suite was absolutely amazing views and very spacious. Room service was outstanding.

Room was spacious bed comfy and good view of sea. Bathroom good with large fluffy towels. Breakfast was varied with good choice. Evening meal really tasty and well presented. Staff were friendly.

Twin beds put together not one big bed so could feel a slight ridge but minimal issue. Not a smart tv- also not much of an issue :)

Close to location I wanted, room was lovely and spacious, peaceful at night but enough people around during the day.

It took two hands to press the flush button on the loo. The bedroom was hot and the windows didn’t open enough to cool it down.

My porridge was good. Good choice of breakfast.

At dinner time the place was understaff. There were two large groups and the service was on the poor side. The same staff didn’t offer us cooked breakfast. More than being rude, they didn’t seem to be properly trained on dealing with a busy day.

Appeared to have just been redecorated. Our room (family room) was clean and good size.

Beer pipes needed cleaning. More signage needed as you turn off the main road.

Nice hotel. It needs a bit of refurbishment as it's a bit tired. Nice friendly staff. The food was good.

There wasn’t a lift - although we knew this and it was advertised.

I had a very bad experience at the dinner of Friday 3 May. I was served codling fish that was off - it was very smelly and I couldn't begin to eat it. Although the waitress took it away and offered to replace it, I couldn't face that happening again and took a desert instead. We were not charged for the rotten dish, but I felt an apology should have come from the chef him/herself as they should have known better. I was also alarmed to see a car more than once parked up against a fire exit door which said keep clear. I wasn't sure if the whole building was in use, in which case the sign should be reviewed. The signs in our part of the building seemed to be in order though.

We had to get the shower fixed and no standing mat in the bathtub. We did mention this, they said there should have been and are going to talk to housekeeping staff. Ordered poached egg for breakfast, I got a poached egg but no toast, really didn’t think I would have to order toast separately, a bit odd. No lift, our room was on the top floor, no offer to help with bags. We are OAP’S.

The bathroom had areas needing some general updating- wooden shelf and bath panel/patch of damaged enamel in the bath. My evening meal was poor. There was a restricted food service-bar meals only- and the selection a but disappointing. I chose a butternut squash curry which lacked spicing, looked as though it had been made to use up leftover veg, was thick, mushy and bland. The accompanying rice was very overcooked and the poppadum greasy.

Location was beautiful, right by the loch. The staff were helpful and friendly, room was comfortable and met my needs. Breakfast was mostly good- fantastic almond croissants, nicely prepared grilled tomatoes but poor quality sausage. Tea was poured from a thermos- individual pots of tea would be better.

I thought when I’d booked that the property was right on the water but this was not the case. Could well have been me not reading properly to be honest.

Breakfast was super. Lots of options and plenty of it. Lady who checked us in was friendly and gave us some really interesting facts about the local area
