How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

From my perspective, nothing but maybe I am easily pleased?! My wife thought the drain smelled a bit in the bathroom.
The breakfast was superb. Able to choose items from the continental breakfast as well as full English breakfast!

Platters for an evening meal were available on order but otherwise guests were referred to the nearby Deerhound pub/ restaurant.
Breakfast & location good. Hotel had bus stops just outside & was within a short bus ride of the airport & St Peter Port. Management & breakfast staff very friendly, pleasant & helpful.

Cleaner left door ajar every day.
The breakfasts were lovely. Decent size portions. Bed and pillows comfy. Bath towels were big and did the job. Hot water, clean shower. Tea and coffee facilities.

A little damp.
Proximity to airport - we walked - and Petit Bot walk right there as well (bear cove); after international flight in pool a few minutes after landing; all staff really friendly and very helpful: breakfast very good.

Shower pressure terrible Could have been hoovered more And rooms updated But had every thing you needed including hairdryer, toiletries and fridge. Would have liked bar to be open after 9 pm as actually didn’t go once due to eating out for dinner
Excellent breakfast but could do with more vegetarian options. Great pool and hot tub. Near lovely bay and museums but limited to where to eat in evening as poor bus service after 6 pm

Did not like Sink in bedroom, would be better to change bath for shower so that sink could go in ensuite No dressing table or area to do makeup Very small tv would be better wall mounted

The hotel is a bit dated but to be honest I quite liked it!
The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and I slept well. Breakfast was also a good selection and good value for money.

it is out of town so take care to read the bus timetable as buses finish early if you intend to eat in town
perfect location for walking the island. easy to wal to coastal walk tracks being on a bus route also made it easy to get around the island. the staff were very helpful.

its always hard to comment on ones trip , without offending anyone , we enjoyed our stay, the staff/owners were very good, the breakfast, room and facilities were excellent, - we would go again, the down side, was it was a really hot day, no air conditioning, or fan was in the room, just the windows open, which as we were low down, didn't help much, and the large cobweb above the bed ,and the fruit spider walked across the sheet where my wife had just laid down, which gave her a fright.. we laughed it off, and thought that as the room was rather dark -it was possibly an oversight, for when the cleaners had been in, - we were happy with everything overall and the owners kept us updated when the email from booking.com never arrived back, and confirmed out booking, and even called the restaurant up the road to see if any spaces were available. as we had arrived late.
staff were good, breakfast was good, although, the main breakfast was placed and left on the table while we were still eating our croissants.. -

n/a. The hotel suited us well. It is an old Guernsey farm house which has not been modernised, although the facilities are very good. Quaint but comfortable.

Poor shower with feeble water pressure. The only down side.
Best breakfast and lots of choice. Great friendly staff. Swimming pool a bonus in hot weather.
