It didn’t affect our stay, but it is dog friendly. We also had an 18th birthday in the hotel on Sunday night which meant some areas were off limits, but it wasn’t noisy and didn’t affect our sleep.

Chose the room with a sea view for a small supplement, which was totally worth it. Big room, really big bed and 2 armchairs we used to enjoy the view. Breakfast was pretty extensive with some items cooked to order. Plenty of downstairs seating, multiple lounges.

Was very hot one of the days and no air conditioning in the room. Pool cues and bats in the games room were old and worn. Snooker table balls also need replacing/polish. No mobile coverage in the area so very difficult to take calls.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Brought me a fridge so I could store drinks and snacks. WiFi was decent considering how poor the signal in the area was. Use of snooker and games room was a nice surprise. Well stocked breakfast buffet and cooked poached eggs were extremely appreciated.

I imagine that in full season parking might be difficult, although not when we visited.

The staff were happy and and efficient and the hotel had a family owner atmosphere. Must be a pleasant place to work, which says a lot.

It's a dog friendly hotel and there were a LOT of dogs. Great for dog owners, but if you're not a fan then it may not be your kind of place. I would have liked this aspect to have been more clearly advertised at booking. Sadly, I won't return because of all the bloody dogs.

Lovely hotel, with exceptional staff. I really like that it's fiercely independent. The downstairs was really nicely done, although upstairs was a little dated.

The lighting in both my room and the lounges could have been brighter - it would have made reading easier.

The Lansdowne is a great hotel for the price on the waterfront in Eastbourne. Staff through out the day were welcoming and friendly. Good communication leading up to my stay and offers of upgrades available also. Breakfast was great in the morning from 7am and check in/out a breeze.
