How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I received a message the day before my arrival to say check in is from 1pm. I turned up at 1pm and was unable to check in until 1:50. There is no luggage storage. The bathroom was a wet room. Absolutely tiny.

No complaint
As a solo traveller,just looking for a bed for the night, its location was good. The bed was comfortable and clean staff were friendly. I know some people want more, but you get what you pay for .I would be more than happy to stay again when travelling through.

Had asked twice to look at tv as wasn't in my language...unfortunately not very helpful
Quiet and decent location next to victoria coach and tube station. Comfortable bed. Decent tea and coffee. WiFi speeds were brilliant.

Strange that I arrived at 20.30, no one on reception, didn't see any staff from arrival to leaving next morning.

The bed felt like it was sloped. The door into the ensuite was too narrow. During the night we were concerned that someone was trying to get into the room although it may have been someone going into a room nearby. It was too warm.
The room and ensuite felt clean.

Obviously, given the price, the room was small. No lifts - so far as I know and I was on the top floor. Thin walls so expect to hear the people next door. But you get what you pay for and the price was very good given the location and amenities on offer.
Great location - a five minute walk from Victoria Station, so well-connected across London and beyond. Lovely pub on the street’s corner too so you don’t have stretch your legs too much if you just want to take the evening easy but don’t want to go to bed immediately. Shower facilities were decent enough - hot water literally on tap, which isn’t always a given. I didn’t partake, but it seems that there’s an option to order food from offsite - so far as I’m aware there wasn’t onsite food, so a great option if caught short. No frills - but if you’re there for just an evening or two, or just want somewhere to lay your head, it’s fine.

The staff were not readily available, had to call with my phone and it took a while to get any staff. The wifi was not that good.
The location is perfect: Close to the bus station and few minutes walk to where I went to.

There was a TV but nowhere to plug it in which was weird. The bed wasn't very comfy and the sheets were on inside out. It didn't look like much care was given to the room in general. Our room was right by the reception area and it felt like everyone could hear our conversations, it didn't feel very private
The location is great. A nice quiet area but very close to Victoria train and coach station. An OK place to stay for one night. Shower was good.

The toilet rooms are very small. In the showers it takes a while for the warm water to come. No shelves, no hooks in shower rooms; the only place to hang your things on when taking a shower is the door handle your own teeth; the rooms are small and nowhere to keep the the luggage either except for the floor.
The location is amazing and the price for the location is excellent,however, this is not a place I would pay a pound more or stay longer than 3 nights.

It's not the flashest hotel in town, but it was really well located, and it was cheap. The rooms were basic but clean and neat. Can't complain for the price.
