People with dogs not keeping them close to them or in the gardens not keeping an eye on them so they can just come up to others.

The staff are very friendly and helpful the breakfast was delicious.The rooms are spotless,bed was comfy.The hotel is in a great place as we walked into town.

Interior is looking tired. Chair seat cushions in the dining room were stained. The carpet in our room looked liked it needed cleaning. The fish pond in the garden looked a mess instead of being an attractive feature.

Excellent receptionist when we arrived and friendly staff. Great location to visit RHS Harlow Carr. Good free parking. Comfortable bed. Looks impressive from outside. Good bathroom, but the silicone around the bottom on the shower enclosure had patches of black mould.

I think the place needs a bit of maintenance, electrical short outs. But all accommodated and overcome.

The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The breakfast had a limited menu having no fresh fruit available or pastries.

The location was good .it was lovely to sit outside in the garden .All staff were friendly and approachable

Breakfast, we had breakfast included with the room, in which case there seemed to be a choice of either a cooked breakfast menu or a cereal menu. I would have liked cereals as part of my breakfast, but as the choice was very limited I didn't bother to find out if my understanding was correct.

Dinner was very good, great food reasonable prices. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Plenty of car parking.

The drain in the shower was slow to train and almost overflowed. Also at breakfast water leaked through the ceiling which was slightly off putting.

The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Also the food was very delicious and there were plenty of options at breakfast and dinner!

lovely surroundings and staff went extra mile to make sure you had what you needed. Dinner and breakfast excellent and room large. Would definitely recommend to others and will be returning especially as so close to RHS Harlow Carr.

The room we stayed has water pipe nearby and could hear water running when upstairs room used bathroom. Also beneath was probably a bar. For those sensitive to noise may notify those noises.

Location convenient to town centre. Beautiful backyard, must see in summer.

Only down side was we booked for a meal on the Sunday (Easter Sunday) and when we got there there was very little left on the menu. Luckily what we did choose was delicious so that made up for it.

All the food was delicious and we were very impressed. The room was large and comfortable. I loved the decor in the restaurant.

Staircase stank of fish on visit, every day, every time we used it, room 2, toilet push tough, bit mouldy in shower cubicle, not much clothes storage for the big room, chair used in preference to storing clothes on floor after wardrobe was full (4 day trip)

Large room, comfy bed, good shower, good parking, bar and restaurant food drink ok, and nicely presented, not a cheap pub!! service good all round

Sounds of running water when rooms above ran taps or flushed toilets was my only concern, maybe a bit more insulation in the roof space above bed where I assume plumbing is? would quieten this down a lot.

Breakfast was fantastic value for money. Room was clean and comfortable. The staff were a pleasure to deal with and made us all feel very welcome and gave the children chocolate easter bunnies which was a lovely surprise. The restaurant meals were lovely and ample in portions size and very well priced. It has been a few years since we last stayed here and was a pleasure to stay here again, can’t remember why we stopped staying here when we visit Harrogate which is quite frequent Would stay again in a heart beat thank you all for great service.

Unfortunately our room was very cold. It’s an old building and you can feel the cold from the windows, particularly the bathroom. The duvet was also very thin, with no extra blankets that we could see. The skirtings really let the room down. They were painted in a dark colour, but the paint had come off in lots of areas, making the nice room look shabby.

Great Staff and lovely food in the restaurant. Loved the decor downstairs.
